    #!@*&!!! Cell phone calls

    Is there any fricking way to block these people from constantly calling?


    Rogers can't/wont do a think..


    I get these numbers calling me all the time..

    866-640-8881
    508-575-6868
    360-636-9988
    502-241-9988
    541-330-9988
    973-689-6508
    303-546-2250

    i see the numbers, never pickup, no voicemail left, i've called one back.. nothing.. I've reverse lookuped all off them to find some are from Kentucky, Denver, New Jersey, Maryland...

    Clearly they are telemarketers/scammers and i'm getting tired of them calling... anyone have any methods to stop the calls every day?

    I don't know if there is anything you can do about foreign telemarketers

    With Canadian ones getting the phone company to do anything is like pulling teeth... but a couple well placed calls to the CRTC and it's amazing how quickly you can get results. Document where and when they call (which is easy on a cell phone) and hit *57 after they call, that reports the number and will come in handy should you lodge a formal complaint.

    When I lived in Regina I kept getting calls from Canwest to subscribe to their papers and no matter how many times I told them to put me on their do-not-call list they kept calling... finally they got fined $1500 and I never got another call from those clowns.

      Contact your phone provider and ask them to block those numbers?
      I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

        I did.. Roger's said that If I want to buy an add-on feature for a monthly charge then they could block them.. and IIRC the price wasn't cheap. As much as they do call. I can't bring myself to pay for something /month that I feel they should provide with any contract.

          All I do when stuff like that happens is ignore it. If it's a number I don't recognize, I don't answer. And if it's someone important trying to get a hold of me, they will leave a message.

          No need to pay more money!

          Problem...somewhat solved

            its what I'm doing.. but the calls are coming more and more frequently now..

              I've started using a cool little trick with telemarketers that is having some success, while providing much entertainment for myself.

              "Hello, is Mr. Seghers there please?"

              "This is him."

              "Hello, I represent (company name), and I am calling about..."

              "(repeat company name)? Wow, this is very funny. I actually market your product/service here in Calgary?"

              "Oh, really, I..."

              "It's alright, I know that your records wouldn't show that, but as you can understand, since I am a rep for your product/service already, I really have no need for your product/service. You should probably make a note so you don't waste your time calling me when you could be making a sale."

              "Um, OK, I'll do that."

              "Cool, and good luck. I know how tough it is, but you sound like you know what your doing, so you should do very well."

              "Well, thanks. Sorry to waste your time."

              "No problem, you just doing your job. Take care."

                  Actually, what is happening is that a computer is dialing your number. IF there is an answer, there is a relay over to an operator who is standing by...and that period of dead space is likely the time it takes to make the transfer.
