        Hey Esksfans!!
My name is Mike, I am a 29 yr sous-chef and I have a confession to make.. I have been browsing and reading this forum since about 2009/2010. I know. I finally decided to make it official and sign up for an account so I can contribute to the great conversation/opinions/analysis etc. Reading the posts and comments on this site has become an almost daily routine for me, and I really enjoy and appreciate what most of the posters here have to say, proud to finally be a part of this community!!

Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF AND POST A PICTURE!

              Thanks @Looner and @Eskfan152
I wanted to post this in a new thread, but I couldn't figure out how. So here are my thoughts on this team, I hope you all read and enjoy.

I have been following the Eskimos since about 2005. When I was a little kid, I remember going to a couple games through the promotion they used to run at my elementary school, I remember Henry Williams visiting my grade one class and reading to us, he even did a back flip, just for us kids. I started watching again about the time that Ricky Ray came to our team and remember watching him and Maas tag-team the season and playoffs, and the first Grey Cup I watched ended in a win for us that year! Some great memories over the years, from AJ Gass showing his skills as a Helmet Tosser (LOL) to the Ray-Stamps deep post connection. Jason Tuckers neck injury shook me to the core, and even helped me to realize how important it is to never take anything for granted, to appreciate each and every day. The Tribute game for Jason will always be one of my favorite Esks memories.
Then there was the Trade. The GM. The J&J Show. During those years was when I started to really frequent this site, looking for insights and maybe some top secret info from Diesel, any sign of good news or positive changes soon to come. Of course, it took a long time for those to materialize, but after the last five years of less than mediocre play, finally there were consequences. I mean, there had to be.
The anointment of Ed Hervey as our GM, coupled with the arrival of Reilly brought a new and electric energy to the Eskimos. There were of course, other changes and additions, but it is my belief that the combination of these two individuals provided the catalyst needed for the positive growth of this team, from the offices all the way to the locker room.
Last years Grey Cup victory was no fluke. We played each and every game with a determination to win. We would not be denied. How many times did we come back and win when we got outscored early? How many games did we win that others said we probably shouldn't have? We survived the injuries, the bye weeks, the adversity, the scoreboard and the clock and fought for victory with our un-relenting will to win.
It wont be easy to repeat as Champs, it never is. There are plenty of excuses we could use, be it personal, coaching, and officials. We could fold, we could resign ourselves to mediocrity once again. Or, we could take those hits and get back in the huddle, let the blood drip down and forge ahead, defiant to the idea of defeat. We find our will to win and I promise you we that we are just as good as any team in this league. Maybe even better.

                    Hello everyone.

You may refer to me as my username or some shortened version thereof. I was introduced to this site by someone over at SeahawksDraftBlog.com, created by Rob Staton. The next piece of information you may deduce is that I am a Seahawks fan. I am, in fact, a Seahawks fan. I am primarily an NFL spectator and love the game of football. This is why over the past couple of years I have been turning to CFL when the NFL is out of action. Although pretty casual, I am genuinely interested in the CFL and would like to learn more about it.

I became a fan of the CFL when I learned that the starting quarterback of the University of Washington Huskies, Keith Price, had joined the CFL. He joined none other than the Saskatchewan Roughriders. I did a little research on them and found they had many ex-Seahawk, ex-Pacific Northwest players I was familiar with. So it just felt right that if I was going to watch CFL, Saskatchewan would be my team. It was also cool to read about their recent Grey Cup victory. Now that the team has gone somewhat down the tubes, they are often less-exciting to watch but they are still my team. I am also okay with the fact that Keith Price went to BC. I am not the bandwagon type. As long as Darian Durant is with the Greenwhites I figure there has to be some sort of hope, regardless the issue of his glass body.

I work in childcare and do some media/communications work.

That is all I will put here. A pleasure to be here and I look forward to conversing with you all.

Thanks for the welcome. I became quickly aware that Roughriders are not very well-regarded on this blog. But in my defense you can take solace in the fact that I don't know S about CFL. That's why I'm here! I want to learn more.

I'll keep my eyes on the rules and try to make sure I am not breaking any.

While I'm here just want to throw out there that I've been looking for a standard fantasy CFL league to partake in. I have searched and searched but haven't found anything except daily leagues, which I am not privy to.

If you know of one but don't want to post it here just PM me.

Y'know if you're a U of W Huskies fan...we once had a QB that groomed himself into pro ball here.

I mean he's no Keith Price and all...but maybe you've heard of him?

Haha yes. I remember him quite well. He actually does color commentary for the Seahawks on radio. He is a beloved figure in Seattle and I know he is in Canada as well. What I find amazing is that all told he has the most passing yards of any pro QB ever. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for that.

A Riders fan who cares about following rules. What a miracle!

Welcome Iguana. If you want to know more about my above joke (and why the Riders are so disliked in these parts), check out the "Around the CFL" thread...if you dare...

                              RIP Pizmo

All true, and he is still much beloved (and followed) here. In fact we've never handed out another jersey with his number.

I respect a man who doesn't change allegiances, but at the same time...it's hard not to help someone who has made poor choices.
