Next year will be the year Dyce has to prove himself. Wish him well.
Bob Dyce will return as the head coach of the Ottawa Redblacks in 2024 according to multiple local reports, the first of which came from AJ Jakubec. The Redblacks finished the season with a 4-14 record in Dyce’s first campaign as the team’s permanent head coach. The 57-year-old was promoted to the head coaching position […]

That's great news. He waited a long time for a HC position. Players seem to like playing for him. Wish him well also.

I hope he succeeds at least when he's not playing us

I know the Bombers have a couple of knicked up receivers - I"m guessing this is a precautionary move.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed veteran receiver Markeith Ambles to their practice roster. The 31-year-old was released by the Calgary Stampeders late last month after he dressed for four games and caught 15 passes for 193 yards. Ambles’ stint in Cowtown came after he was released by the Toronto Argonauts at the start of […]

I see that we were the only team not to place a player on one of the all-star teams.

Yeah, that is true. I can't speak for any of the other team's but no Elk deserved it in my opinion. Nobody stood out enough to merit consideration.

Definitely. At 4-14 we're lucky to have had a representative for the awards as many teams don't. I don't see any player on the team who was best in the league or Conference at their position. Brown threatened for a bit but with Oliveira in your Conference you need more than a hot 6 game stretch. Morgan, Ceresna or Leonard could have been considered maybe as well though with more than one spot at their positions, but were too hot or cold as a group.

I wonder if Ceresna would have got a spot if he only played only one D line position . Just me but I'm not a fan of CJ's three man D line. Jake was an all star last year at DT iirc and they had him mostly at DE this year. All the players we tried at DT and they couldn't stop diddly regarding the run game. . Maybe we had no one capable of playing the other DE spot so it kept Jake there ?

Winnipeg with three O linemen on the all star list. I'd like to see Brown run behind a line like that.

Ceresna does seem to still get a lot of sacks when he lines up inside which is unusual. DTs normally don't get a lot of sacks. That being said anyone have an opinion on how effective he is against the run when playing inside. He just seems to small to play there. When I think of the prototypical DT I think of a guy like Pelley or Sewell who just plugs up the middle and stuffs the RB. I'm not sure if Ceresna can do that at his size against a guy like Olivera or Oulette.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will be rolling with a two-quarterback system for the Eastern Semi-Final on Saturday, but it won’t be Bo Levi Mitchell as the leading man in the tandem. Matthew Shiltz has been named the team’s starter against the Montreal Alouettes, leapfrogging the team’s prized offseason acquisition. The 30-year-old started three games this season […]

If you look at the size of the East and West All Stars this year Jake of the largest. Woody Baron from the Lions is 270, Rose from the Stamps is 268 . Casey Sayles from the Tabbies is 289 and Johnson from the Aks is 290. I seem to recall Ceresna getting penetration at DT , Much more than the slugs that replaced him did.

Usually CFL teams put their best blockers at OT , mostly imports , so the DE's are usually going against the oppositions best pass blocker. So Jake is always going against the best at DE. Just my thought but I still believe he is better suited inside. CJ is supposed to be a D guru though so he must know what he is doing.
