How many CIS players go to an NFL Pro Day and put up the sort of elite numbers the Ford brothers did? There's no doubt those numbers drew the attention of NFL scouts and while neither signed down there those scouts took note and have kept an eye on them this year. In Tyrell's case as a DB he can be looked at as someone who could play special teams while honing his defensive skills or become a special teams stud. We've seen a few CFLers go down there to excel on STs before settling in as defensive players. Brendan Ayanbadejo made the Pro Bowl as a special teamer 3 times before he finally became a regular defensive starter. Shelton Quarles was another who used special teams to buy himself some time before becoming a regular starting linebacker.

Tyrell ran a 4.44 40, did 17 reps on the 225# bench press, recorded a 36.5 vertical jump and 10'6" broad jump. Those numbers compared to other cornerbacks at the 2022 NFL Combine would be ranked T-14th(dash), T-2nd (bench), 5th (vertical) and T-5th (broad).

Tre turned in a 4.45 40 with 36" vertical and 10'7 broad jump. Amongst QBs at the NFL combine those would rank 1st (dash), T-1st (vertical) and T-1st (broad), While not signed by an NFL club Tre did get mini-camp invites with Baltimore and NY Giants.

Makes sense to me, just didn't know he was that far on the radar.

Was expected….Rouke was simply too good last season before his injury…was on a record pace for many QB categories…

Awesome spot to land in NFL…. Team on the rise and a coach in Doug Peterson who is known to be QB friendly…

Great for the CFL and not so good for BC… this also helps the EE as he seemed to play great against us…. I suspect the CFL won’t see him anytime soon…. Has a great opportunity to be #2 for Jags for many years…

            My 3 Cents…

Wishing him well. Looking at the Jags depth chart he will be going up against a couple similar sized QB's (EJ Perry & CJ Beathard) for that backup spot. Much can change between now and '23 TC, but I think he's found a legit team to make the roster.
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

As of this moment Jacksonville only has 2 QBs under contract for 2023; Trevor Lawrence and Nathan Rourke. Jags might have already been moving on from Beathard who is costing them $2.5M per season. Overall a great opportunity for Rourke to work under some a coaching staff that has a lot to offer a young QB what with 4 former QBs on the coaching staff including HC Doug Pederson who has long been considered a QB guru, OC Press Taylor, QBC Mike McCoy and Asst QC Coach Henry Burris. He walks into an excellent learning environment that should allow him to be successful whenever he gets a chance to play.

This 3D article from tonight is a pretty good read about how there's so much more to a player's decision than simply here's the money numbers do we have a deal?

Nathan Rourke got 'reassurance' from Jaguars to compete to back up Trevor Lawrence while taking 'first step' towards being an 'NFL starter' - 3DownNation

Sad to see him go but excited for him as he seems like a really good dude.

The Ottawa REDBLACKS have extended the contract of quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, keeping the veteran American pivot in the Nation’s Capital through the 2024 season. “Having consistency at the quarterback position is a key piece to have success as a CFL team, so we’re very happy to be able to keep Jeremiah Masoli in red and […]

                          Sports Pundits or CFL lovers?
Amazingly rare that a CFL starter steps in right away to be an NFL starter, ESPECIALLY at QB. So it doesn't really matter who the starter is?
The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.

They are rolling the dice again with Jeffcoat. I would rather have a Matthew Thomas given an option. Left over money to boot.

Pundits... their argument is with Lawrence being a top pick he'll have way more rope than some of the other QB's on the other teams he worked out for. They feel he would have a better shot if he signed with another team who's QB situation isnt solid or with a top pick QB learning. He'll collect a good paycheck, learn from a lot of top coaches and after his contract be back in the CFL without any marginal game time.

They could be right but he's got a good carousal of coaches to learn from and that can do nothing but help his stock and game for either league.

With the work ethic and ability he has, he'll find a starters role down there some day. He's the best QB the CFL has seen in a LONG time
