Week 1 is in the books! Always a hard one to predict, with lack of info about how the team will fit together when the bullets fly. That didn't stop cmbuk, naf, and bone from going 4-0! Cmbuk squeezes into the lead, picking up a bonus point.

I'm now in New Zealand... I'll keep up with the reminders as best I can. Just in case, make your picks early!
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Often, early in the season, it's best to just go with the home team (unless it's Edmonton) until you know who the good teams actually are. Usually it's good enough to lock in at least 2 correct picks so that you don't fall too far behind early. This time it happened to get 4 wins.

I tend to be a strong starter, and just hope to build up enough of a lead that I came choke too badly lol

The 30-20 factor helped you out a lot last year. I went with the punt for Week 1 and followed suit, but I'm trying to figure out an alternative score to go with that could have similar success as 30-20 hasn't always worked so well in other year. 37 surprisingly was the most common winning score last year and 24 the most common losing score, and the most common score win or lose was 27, but that feels weird to go with that kind of spread.

Wow, being in New Zealand is messing with my time zones... I *think* that the next batch of games is starting the day after tomorrow. In any case, they're coming soon, so make your picks!

This week seems like there are some easy picks ; Winnipeg starting Strevler seems like an easy edge for B.C., Ottawa without Brown seems like an easy win for the Alouettes, Calgary should have all they can handle against the Argos, same for the Riders in Hamilton.

But also home openers for Winnipeg and Ottawa and Ottawa's backups both have CFL starting experience with a pretty good group of receivers. Tough to discount the impact of a game being the home opener for a team.

I'd still probably lean Als because they are the Als, not because of concerns with Ottawa's team. The Winnipeg one you're probably right the drop to Streveler is big, so their only hope is a massive ground game and BC looked good against it last week.

After Week 2, it seems that going with the home team wasn't such a successful idea... none of us has a perfect record anymore, but cmbuk's off to a good start at 7-1, with naf at 6-2. Four of us are in the running for third place at 5-3, including Bone, E4E, adb, and myself. But we're just starting... all to play for!

With some travel this weekend, I can't guarantee to remind you guys later, so make your picks!

I am somewhat shocked to the wins by Sask. and Calgary, but probably shouldn’t be. It just reemphasizes the importance of the QB position ; a skilled experienced QB with the ability to make quick recognition of defences and release quickly and accurately is hard to beat. Will be interesting to see what twists opposing defences can come up with to deal with those 2 QB’s.
Montreal is amazing, can’t get much better, luckily there’s a full season for the rest of the league to rise to their level. Cudos to Maas for his play selection and Danny M. for his superb draft picks.
Looking forward to what the EE can craft with the by week.

The Vernon Adams thing still burns my butt. When Montreal made him available it was a no brainer that we grab him but apparently our GM was the one with no brain.
