As expected, not one Elks player on the list.

Makes sense on offense. Matt O'Donnel should be an honourable mention at Guard.


Defense:
You could make a case for Jake Ceresna. Missed one game but led in tackles for his position and had 5 sacks; making tackles all over the field, huge motor.
Jonathan Rose was also good all year, but the choices at CB are fair.
Derrick Moncrief I think better than Darby at SAM. But he missed the first few games so didn't have a full body of work to support himself.

Certainly a good point about Ceresna. Micah Johnson was the only Rider chosen and had 19 DT's and 2 sacks. Jake had 34 DT's and 5 sacks. Maybe they threw the Rides a bone because though AC Leonard had 37 DT's and led the league with 11 sacks he was not chosen. Leaded vs unleaded gas question ????

Bombers whole Oline chosen except for their Centre. Shows why they are # 1. We played more combos on our Oline than a Rubik's Cube.

Hunter was fine playing the game even here as a 23 and 24 year old. It's when he wasn't that he became a problem (i.e. undisciplined penalties). Glad he's getting those under control. Too bad our leadership couldn't figure out how to channel his issues in the right direction. Good reminder that sometimes those players that are 23 and 24 have a lot of room to grow.

AC Leonard may not have been chosen, despite his 11 sacks in 11 games, because of refusal to take a drug test and being forced to sit a few games as punishment. Might be more controversial to have awarded him.

I thought maybe Sean Whyte might have been a consideration because he was probably Edmonton’s most prolific weapon by a long shot, but otherwise it’s pretty sad. I wonder when the last time was that this team was completely shut out.
