- I agree we need to resign Boateng or Betts - ideally both but depending on how much Boateng wants - I think they'd do really well in a Jones system
- Moore trade wasn't "shocking" to me.
- I agree resigning Washington - really liked his game
- LB will be interesting. Both Bierria and Morgan did well and should grow as players. Would like to see more of Moncrief. Though Improvement is needed IIRC we where bad on stomping the run. Theres a lot of targets for LB - including some who've been in a Jones D before. McCoil would be ideal - depending on his age imo. Judge and Lacy just to name a few
- Not sold on either Ellingson or Walker as receivers. Like the idea of getting Jaelon Acklin.
- Do need a decent backup QB
- Would rather see someone else at RB that Wilder. Fletcher and ?
- Burnham would be interesting. It'd have to be over one of Ellingson or Walker. With Simon here maybe Burnham would be interested.
- Did like Tolliver's game hope he stays.
- Lucky would be been great for this team as I think we'll feature more short passes - since Lucky is gone Acklin would be a good target he was Hammys short passes specialist according to a chart in that article.

LB Group of Moncreif-Morgan-McCoil would be interesting.... I thought Morgan got better and stronger as the season went on. I have heard he getting some NFL looks...
CJ likes to move players around on D and they need to be versatile.
I feel the ratio and how CJ wants to utilize it will determine the fate of Betts/Boetang. If CJ wants to go with American DE then those two will be two expensive as potential National starters for another CFL team... I would guess that we will have 4OL National starters (once we sign Korte and hopefully MOD). We will start two National REC/FB. That's 6 National starters on Offence. Then CJ will need to determine what position on D he wants that 7th National starter. Either S or DE in my view....
My 3 cents...

Looks like McCoil is off the board - retiring.“God is good!!!! Thanks to the following organizations for giving a young dream chaser an opportunity to play the game I love: AFL LA Kiss, CFL @elks BONE (Edmonton Eskimos Grey Cup Champs), San Diego & @chargers, @49ers, @calstampeders , @XFLBattleHawks, & @TorontoArgos!!!!”Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

We’ve been talking a lot about the defensive front seven and seeing players CJ has coached coming off the board or staying on a list of our hopeful targets. But maybe there are other connections to explore.
What would anyone think of Larry Dean? He was a huge leader in Edmonton in 2019 and even Sunderland gave Phillip Lolley credit for that signing. Lolley, of course, has a long history with Jones. Perhaps Dean just wanted out because of others in the organization when he moved on after that year.
i know he’s older and he’s missed a lot with his Achilles injury, but you’d be getting a good MLB and maybe for a bit less than he should command.

I'm not salivating too much over big FA dreams. Yeah, there are lots of former CJ players floating around the league but when we last saw them in G&G they were young and hungry. That championship D was built on scouting and recruitment rather than the Sunderland special of $$ vets. A few key pieces, sure, but I want to CJ and Geroy work their network in the US and find the next McCoil, Jefferson, etc

Other teams are signing their FAs except us.
What gives?
Players don't wanna be here even with CJ at the helm.
Still three weeks to free agency so I wouldn't panic yet. Ottawa still hasn't extended anyone, nor has Montreal. Hamilton has only extended three vs. Edmonton's 4. Calgary's six and Toronto's seven aren't so far away to say they are drastically ahead either.
