I have no sympathy for him. Now he wants a release or trade... I dunno maybe read the entire contract before signing??? I'm sure this will show up as the bad Elks and Jones screwing over players .... its all on francis... you'd think he would have read the entire thing before signing...

If he has one that is totally on his agent. If he doesn't have an agent that's his problem. CFL standard player contracts might be several pages long but overall are pretty straight forward. Insert annual salary in one place and fill in any other details like bonuses in another area.

I know CJ is the GM on paper, but I think that's just so he has final say over things and that Geroy's really doing the GM work. Geroy doesn't really seem like the kind of guy who would hide things in fine print or screw over players, so I think there's more going on.

Smells to me like some other team with a “need” has put an offer in for more $ and he’s renegotiating. Likely not a good look for him long term.

Smells to me like some other team with a “need” has put an offer in for more $ and he’s renegotiating. Likely not a good look for him long term.

As excellent as he is on special teams my first thought when I read he's getting $125K is wow that's a lot for a special teams role. Hard to imagine somebody willing to pay more.

Maybe one of the leagues stateside? I know his nationality helps here, but he is a proven player and someone may be willing to pay a bit for that.

His comment about being ignored about his money seems to rule out the XFL or USFL. If it was about one of them calling then you'd think he'd be venting about not getting his release instead of demanding to get his release OR be traded. Being traded does nothing for getting him out of his CFL deal.

How about you read your contract before you sign or better yet have your agent read it.
