Love him or hate him, he is an icon on Edmontons sports radio. Loved hearing him say today that hanging up on callers to his show was a fun schtick! Thanks for all you have done Bryan! Enjoy retirement.

Spent many a summer night lying in the bunks of our family's camperized bus listening to Bryan call the games (with John Farlinger back in the day). He made the good play sound great, every time! Happy retirement Mr. Hall. Thank you for all the memories over the years.Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

I had thought that he had already retired as well.
One would be hard pressed to find a bigger icon in the Edmonton sports media scene than Bryan Hall. To have a career that spans 70 years is unheard of and his knowledge and enthusiasm is incredible. There has also likely never been anyone so well connected to the local sports scene.
That said, I often found his play by play style to be somewhat cumbersome and disorganized. I recall listening to Eskimo games in the early 2000'a when I was in law school and the home games were blacked out and honestly, it was sometimes hard to follow what was happening on the field. There were even times that he would completely miss a play as it was happening because he was going on about Tony Roma's ribs or another advertiser.
In any event, he is still a legend in Edmonton sports and I wish him all the best in his retirement.
