They used to. When did they switch, and why?
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

I think they started doing that post Covid but I have no idea why. Trying to create more inter-divisional games maybe? I dunno, but I don’t like it. In a league this small, I see no reason why every team shouldn’t get at least a home and home series with every other team.

I'm interested to see how Ford and Jackson rebound from someone laying out a roadmap to contain Tre, this will show us what his potential really is and with an extra week to think about it, I'm hoping the adjustments get made.

despite what drivel TSN was spouting.. I dont believe for one second BC laid a roadmap to contain ford. IMO the game plan called by the Elks was to keep Ford more in the pocket. More on this in a another post coming up.....

I needed a day to recover from that game, as I was pissed right off.. still am to a lesser degree though.

            1. D: STOP with the ****ty zone defence all the time. If you get zero pressure , any QB will pick you a part. Mix IT up.

            2. Offense: It was like watching a ****ing MacAdoo offense all over again. Despite what TSN was driving - I dont for one second think BC developed a roadmap to contain Ford. I beleive the Elks game plan going into the game was to - keep him in the pocket. as much as possible. Ya BC got pressure on him and hit him but hardly a roadmap to contain him. This is not playing to his strengths what so ever. There was numerous scrambles ( because of pressure ) that if he would have just tucked the ball and take off- the results would have been better. Instead he kept his eyes down field and ended up being sacked. He needs to be a run first throw second QB - and take off any time he sees fit.

I think the Elks shot themselves in the foot worrying what BC's pass rush might due instead of using ford to his strengths. You could clearly tell the idea was to pocket pass ( not even move the pocket) Because when scrambling he was still looking down field instead of taking off. Very infuriating to watch.

            3. Oline finally had a bad game again.

            4. The loss isn't necessarily a bad thing - the press clippings about this new hot and exciting team / player in ford and brown could have been getting to their ends so a good beat down should bring them back to earth

5 rushing attemps by Ford...Try to convince me the Elks gameplan WASNT to keep him in the pocket.

You may very well be right, I missed the first half as we had a hockey practice. I believe he had 2 or 3 rushing attempts on the final drive alone so if he only ended with 5 then ya the game plan was to throw more for sure.

Feels good to have passion for the team again doesn't it. I had gotten to the indifference stage and even started laughing when things would go wrong, now I get pissy again, which is a good thing.

BC was also smart enough to use a DB to spy Ford for extra speed rather than teams that have tried to do it with a lb but no we were clearly staying more in the pocket. They def should have been moving him around to change his launch point.

With that all said BC is a heck of a good team to boot it's not like we were playing Cgy or Sask.

100% agree with points 1 and 3 - we don't have the d line to get pressure with just 4 and our oline is decent to above average at run blocking pass blocking they still struggle.
                In Rod we trust

Now that you guys are out of playoff contention, will we get to see more backups in game?

I want to see Brodrique at MLB. The guy has so much talent, let's see what he can do?

Shakel played SLB in college, let's see if he can take over for Konar next year. Same goes fit the Appolon, that isn't injured.

Grahovic, looked good at when he started. Put him at RG and let's see what he can do.

                    .
Mathematically, we can still finish 3rd in the West.
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

Yup. So we're all TiCat fans this weekend (assuming Edmonton can find a way to knock off Toronto).

Edmonton's only path to the playoffs requires:

Edmonton winning all three games (@Tor, vs. Mtl, @Wpg)
Saskatchewan losing all three games (vs. Ham, @Cgy, vs. Tor)
Calgary beating Saskatchewan next week and losing at least one of the other games (@BC, vs. Wpg)

Definitely not an impossible scenario as I can see both the Calgary and Saskatchewan scenarios possibly playing out, though I doubt Edmonton can take care of their job as that's three good teams.

Negatory. If they are backups they need to win a job. The roster shuffle seeing what guys had was the first half of the season and now its time to build continuity.
