There are still a number of question marks when it comes to Ford for sure but for him to come out of the CIS and do what he's done to this point is pretty amazing.
yep tons of potential for sure.

havent been able to read up everything on Ford and his progress so far with the thoughts of everyone on here, also missed some bits and pieces of games lately due to family stuff but yeah....

looks like its more or less the same?...Fords' rushing has been muted a bit as defences have schemed a better read and whatnot with scheme beating out athleticism more often than not?

Guys got all the athleticism to be a gamer.... he just needs to up his cerebral stuff to a "serviceable" level? he doesnt have to be elite with the mind, simply cause the athleticism can mitigate that a bit and bail him out.

looks like the truth SO FAR lies somewhere in the middle?, as weve seen more a sample size that allows for it, is that some that were super high on him are maybe wrong on his ceiling, but the ones who were quite doubtful (me) have seen that hes at least not as bad with his arm as we made him to be.
It hasn't been as "fun" for the fans as the first couple games. Teams are spying him and schemed for him.. but I also believe the Elks are keeping him in the pocket more by design. There was numerous times in the last couple games alone where he could have taken off and ran for a decent game yet did not - also times when scrambling instead of just going he kept his eyes down field - resulting in hits/sacks.

I'm alright with this... we know he can run and has the ability to beat anyone, also I'm pretty confident the Elks would develop a way to counter the Ds' scheme if they where so inclined - but these games are now meaningless. Let him work on his pocket presence and reads. It'll help in the long run.

He's had some bad throws, some Ints - but he also has made some very beautiful tosses. IMO the Oline has failed him and Brown the most the last couple games. Lets not talk about the D though....

I was skeptical of his arm as well.. and he's surprised me.. better than I remember.

He's a work in progress but the upside is HUGE with him. As long as the use him properly and take advantage of his abilities. I'd love for them to work on his throws on the run more.. but baby steps. Elks future is looking much better with him over the Corny one. Sure MacAdoo's schemes sucked and was from circa 2015, but he still had issues reading D's and poor mechanics.

Agree with all of this. Realistically we were playing for 2024 a few weeks back so there is no need to sell the farm to save this season, Ford has done that for us, at least IMO. I try to be optimistic every year but it was getting really difficult these last few years with Corny, now I feel like we have a legit reason to be optimistic.

To be fair to Ford, his growth as a QB is going to have some bumps in the road and probably a few set backs along the way but he's a freak if an athlete that is going to entertain us no matter what stage of his development he's in. That Cobb TD was a thing of beauty and something that not many other QB's could do.
