Its 2023 and this sounds like it was recording in 1980. Need to turn volume to 50 plus just to hear them and we still can't hear the questions being asked... embarrassing.

Yeah wouldn't it be nice to hear the actual questions.

From listening to the presser it sounds like they could survive next season but after that they'd be done so I guess their fate is sealed and they are definitely going to be sold. Hopefully its to someone local with deep pockets who loves the club.

Getting into the details of what they said, I think if they got back to reasonable crowds that its not quite that bleak, but they don't want to just assume they'll get those crowds.

The Edmonton Elks have signed a trio of American prospects for the 2024 season, including receiver Tony Tate.  The 25-year-old speedster spent the 2023 season playing for the Wroclaw Panthers in the European League of Football, recording 39 receptions for 895 yards and 16 touchdowns in just 10 games as well as 136 rushing yards and […]

I like the sound of each of those three signings.

Same here. It would be nice if we started bring in quality rather quantity. CJ supposedly drove home on a " shopping trip" stopping off at colleges to find players. Hopefully he finds a couple of gems like he did his first time here. Just me, but I wish he would stick to coaching and not have so many hats.

In the first few months of offseason I'm fine with him being all about recruitment. Even if he was only a coach, I'd like hearing that he'd be doing this.

I'm hoping the change in the ops cap will alleviate some of the work he has. I'm really hoping we can grab shivers, which will help with the defensive hat.

iirc it was CJ's connection with Dexter McCoil that got Kevin Brown here when McCoil was DB coach and CFL liaison at Incarnate Word. So it's good to have contacts for sure.

Jones probably sees three times the players that any other GM does (and he probably flies in twice as many for a week long stay on the PR). He's not a very productive GM when you measure the end result of all his efforts. Too much time for too little return. I'm not knocking his work ethic; I'm questioning his methods.

I believe that when asked by Morley during an interview once if last season's shopping trip on his way home had resulted in any players on the roster that CJ mentioned Kai Gray which turned out to be the rookie nominee out of the West this past season so that's pretty good and worth the longer drive home IMO. Was there anyone else besides Gray that he found on that trip that anyone is aware of?

Thanks for that. Well worth the trip then.

I have this vision in my mind of the " scout" from the movie, A League Of Their Own.
