I still think it was decided prior to when he was demoted they just waited for the bye week..

Remember the pathetic press conference with what's his face saying there was no particular reason that he got fired?

I really thought Ceresna could’ve had one of the DT spots. He was really good again.

If I'm not mistaken, we should have a bunch of extra ops cap to spend this year and who knows what is going to happen in Sask. I would like to see us grab Shivers to help Jones and Dickenson to fix our special teams. I know there is a limit on the amount of coaches you can have but I can't remember what that is.

I do agree, but I feel this is just a pipe dream... this is Jones we are talking about.,.. the guy who brings his coaches where ever he goes... I'd be floored if he added Shivers and Dickensen over his cronies.. The only remotely way I could see it happen if he had previously worked with them....

11 Coaches and (I think) 15 support staff. We currently have 11, so if we got rid of "advisor" Stephen McAdoo, we could fit in a D-Coordinator to help Jones.
Personally I think he needs more help with the GM side of things. I don't think Jones knows football talent as well as most give him credit - especially on offense and special teams. If the average GM spent as much time scouting and recruiting in the off-season as Jones does, they should have a much better football team than 4-14.
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

He's worked with both of them before, they were part of his Sask exodus

Exactly. Both are specifically his cronies. They just haven't been available until this point.

Shivers was a Defensive Assistant in Toronto 2013, Defensive Backs Coach in Edmonton 2014-15 and Defensive Coordinator in Saskatchewan 2016-2023. He's literally never been hired by anyone but Chris Jones.

Dickinson worked on the same teams as Chris Jones in 2003 with the Alouettes, 2008-09 with Calgary, 2014-15 with Edmonton and 2016-2019 in Saskatchewan.

Knowing Chris Jones' MO, I'd be more shocked if he DIDN'T hire 1 or both of them now that they are available.

A couple things here , there was talk in Saskatchewan talk radio later in the season that Dickie was headed to Edmonton next year , not sure there is any truth to that , as well MacAdoo is signed for next year as well according to reports during that bye when he was replaced , so I believe we are stuck with him at least one more year , I thought we played short one coach all of last year , so technically we could bring over Shivers as ast DC , and could use Dickie to replace our ST guy , whomever that guy is

Rick Lelacheur will serve as #Elks President and CEO for the 2024 season to help the club find the best ownership structure. It was trending this way, Lelacheur will also look to improve how the club operates on the business side…
Chris Jones will be back which isn’t a surprise. Offensive staff will be back, most if not all were under contract for 2024. Defensive staff is a question mark. #Elks will be free from the football ops cap but it’s not certain how much they will spend as club looks to control $$

It has come to this.... controlling $$ for the most successful team in the CFL?

If it ends up that they decide to go the private ownership route is it just a foregone conclusion that its the OEG or are there any other individuals or groups that someone thinks might show interest.

Who knows what other groups or individuals could be interested. I'm sure there'd be several as you don't have be a gigantic entity to be a CFL owner, so look at the owners of some of the largest Alberta based companies. Actually, I could have seen Victor Cui as an owner before this all went down.

However, if OEG is interested, I doubt there'd be anyone that could compete with a bid from OEG.

I'd be shocked if Katz wanted to buy the Elks
