If concerns are true about Hollins knee tahen it pretty much vindicates BC from releasing him early this year over those same concerns.

I agree, Hervey seems to have made himself accessible and I’m sure Kilam was at practice today too. If Hollins wasn’t fully healthy and they were excited about the rookies, it makes some sense. We seldom hear the whole story too. I’m not losing sleep, the receiving corps looks fine.

I don't feel that they were hiding. Hervey has a 13 minute interview with Dave Campbell on Ched and he talks about Hollins at the 2 minute mark and he was also on Edmonton Sports Talk today, but haven't listened to that yet, and I'd be shocked if he didn't appear on Gregor today. They don't typically call press conferences to explain the rationale for every single cut.Originally posted by Brock my Rock View PostBig concerns over Hollins release. Ditto for secondary. Not much experience there. Cutting Marcus was a mistake.
then its not having a kicker. Maybe trade witn one of ur fellows for a 1st roumd pick? I always like Whitey.
Ok with QB RB the lines and LBs.

I'm not saying I love the Hollins release, but I'm not expecting a big press conference where they go into detail about why they did. On CHED, it kind of sounded like he was a tough cut and that the door isn't closed completely on him still joining the team. We'll see if anyone else grabs him first. Also seems to me that they do want to leave some opportunities for newer players that showed well to show their stuff while still having a reasonable number of vets. For what it's worth,
I liked what I saw of Victor and he's a big recevier with pro experience that could break out quickly. The stats don't show it, but the balls he caught weren't easy ones. Calhoun while smaller also had good moments.Last edited by bone; 06-02-2025, 12:02 PM.

I don't mind our receivers, I like our QB room, I'm happy with our O and Dlines, our linebackers are top notch, our RB's are beasts and our secondary has plenty of potential. The parts of our game that scare me are kicking and short yardage. I would assume that we are going to start using a FB in the short yardage as none of our QBs are bruisers.

Our ratio is what I need to see on week 1 depth chart….
4-OL (Beard, Korte, Mackellar, Boyko)
3- REC (Gittens, J-G, Mathis)
1- QB (Ford)
2 - DB (Ford, Metchie)
1-DE ( Smith)
Thats 11 National Starter…
Im usually against starting more then the 7 required Nationsks… but ALL 10 of these are Legit….
Not to mention a few other Nationals like LB Dublanko and DE Kongbo and Curtis…

Hollins getting cut sort of fits with what I thought before which is that we have a lot of depth at receiver. Mathis and Arkell Smith are young-ish guys who need a shot and with the addition of Dunbar, we have him and Gittens who are 1000 yard guys.
it looks like Binjemen Victor is the surprise guy who won a spot over Hollins. He’s 28 years old but he put up a 500 yard receiving season at Ohio State behind Olave (Fields was QB that year). He is also 6’4 which never hurts!
Based on the buzz from camp, I would assume this is our starting depth chart:
WR: Dunbar
SB: Gittens
SB: Julien-Grant
R: Smith
WR: Mathis

Interesting, Jacob Plamondon and Marcus Lewis are vets that didn’t make the cut. Also the new kicker Navreson did not, so it must be Blanchard’s job. The other possible surprise for many would be Demetrius Ford. Maybe he refused a PR spot, because a lot had him here.

Thought Lapp might have done enough. Will have to take a look at the full list. Looks like lots of receiver depth though. I wonder if Bonner from Calgary is of interest at QB.

All the cuts are on cfl transactions page , hollins , Lapp both cut , Snyder is our 3rd qb ,MCELVAIN to suspended list , Brown and Carey cut by Argos at rb , Dukes cut by Argos at qb , any interest there for our number 3 ? Lots of big names cut, I would like to see our official team on the depth chart now , who are our receivers now

Might not see some clubs tonight unless the team puts out a formal release. Final deadline was set for 10:00PM local time for each team. For folks back in CFL Head Office that means from 10:00PM EDT for the East Div teams on out to 1:00am EDT for BC. CFL HO will likely pick things up in the morning for the West teams. So far Montreal, Ottawa and Saskatchewan's cuts have been publicized. In the case of the REDBLACKS and Riders they play Thursday night so need to get thru the business of cuts earlier than the others if they plan on holding a practice tomorrow.Originally posted by writfiler View PostHas anyone found a link to the Elks roster cuts today?
