Could be. Ultimately though this is where it's nice that the team had built up a lot of Canadian depth and had a starting Centre playing guard, so they should be able to hold it together for a bit by filling a guard spot with the best player possible regardless of birth certificate.

The EE agree, 33 got his apple and roadmap today.

I don't think Rugamba is well suited to play boundary CB. His best days with BC were when he played SAM. His play there pushed Purifoy back into the secondary. Last year BC moved Rugamba from SAM back to the secondary but I think that was more necessitated by need to find a spot for TJ Lee who seemed to have lost a step when he returned from his achilles injury.

What is helping me to keep everything in perspective is that the EE played one of the undisputed two best defences in the league this early season. Truly they will face no greater test again in Winnipeg. You become the best by playing the best. Yes you lose initially but what a learning opportunity. When they finally play more average teams I fully expect closer games and positive outcomes.

The problem is, I don't think most fans will be willing to wait 3 yrs. Hervey wasn't here but they have been rebuilding for awhile. They need to start winning some games right away. The new owner is going to be bleeding money with no one going to games.

Completely agree but what other option do we have? If we keep changing GMs, he'll keep changing staff and players and we'll never get out of this cycle.

I thought he did a few good things, some things that were improvements from game one, but clearly still a long way to go no doubt.

But if the club does it right and goes through the proper channels in getting approval like the ones Q outlined we could get our old club back with success and support. And the sponsors who were a part in making noise for the group have pulled their support regardless so they’re gone already.

Plus the political pendulum has swung back a little bit towards the middle as of late. I think a lot of people are getting tired of the woke pandering and just want to get on with life.

Being very honest in saying that it was online banter from guys claiming to have solid sources so I don’t know who they are, but the rumblings are getting louder. From all the signs in the stadium with the Elk logo gone, I’d think there’s something to these rumblings.

we knew that was happening in the offseason.. just going to be called the double E. ( for now ) knock on wood.

They are still called the elks and the verbally used the name all night on the PA. But the visual references are all gone.

Pretty telling if the team has stripped all reference to the name from the stadium and I see absolutely nothing referencing Elks on their new jerseys. Not even a tiny symbol. Plus I see they brought the Bear back. Is the Elk mascot even there?

Yup, Spike the elk is gone and Nanook is back. The old fire truck is labeled as Edmonton Eskimos.
