JC's D is garbage. He needs to be fired or switch with Maxie. Who is the secondary coach?

I've never seen a more pathetic D than what we got. 2nd and long no problem for the opposition. Just pass it and Three Elks defenders will stand and wait for the WR to catch the ball before moving in to tackle. Series after Series. No agression pure passive secondary. How did Ford get all his INTs in Winnipeg when teams barely throw his way. Did they move him around ?

I would love to see Ford as our short yardage QB. I think he could bounce it out to the sides if the middle got all cloggy. No one is going to catch him with his speed.

It was nice to see Rankin used properly for once.

is this right or wrong . I dunno I am in fords corner but I think he might have hit a ceiling
He hasn't been given a chance. No Running game for his starts.. No plays developed for his abililites. Half rolls, draws etc.

It appears to me he's being set up to fail Like I said above we are 1-6. Seasons done. If they keep playing Fajardo with , at least, no series off an on for ford. then they have zero intentions for him.

Fair shake is all I ask. Give him games with a running game and calls suited for his abilities Please

A little time to reflect and once the emotion has been removed from the game, I'm not as upset about it as I was on Saturday. We came into this year with a massive turnover in personnel on and off the field, we have an extremely green defensive staff and a coach in his first year. As hard as it is to be patient, if we cut bait on these guys, we will continue the cycle of ineptitude. By all accounts JC is a smart player and coach and will figure it out, lets not be the team that trains him for someone else to benefit. Our D has been better the last 2 weeks, keeping the top two teams in the league to 21 and 28 points. My thoughts on the game:
          • Look at how effective our offence is when we run the ball more then 3 times a game.
          • Thought our Oline was better this game
          • Fajardo was on point.
          • Dublanko is more suited for the middle then weakside, we really missed Anderson here.
          • Our Dline is a real head scratcher, wasn't even on my radar as a concern heading into this year
          • Not sure why we went so deep on the KJG drop. If he catches that, we would have left BLM with over a minute, he would have at least tied the game back up. We were in 3 down mode, we should have picked away at the yards before taking the shot.
All I ask for is progression and this game felt like that. In reality this year is over, lets stick with this core and head into next year with some continuity.

Understand losing some of the early optimism but still see the Elks with an opportunity to get back in the race starting with this week in Montreal. The two byes already taken make it look worse than it is.

It’s not like he hasn’t had a chance I think Ford is around the same starts now as corny.. he’s been given rope..

I think he still has a future here but in what role I’m not sure

At that moment I was 100% with you on the bolded. I was baffled, but ultimately the team needed a major and the major was there so I'm more mad at KJG dropping an easy ball. It would have been the first time all season the defense was given the opportunity to close out a game. Would have been nice to see if they could pull it off especially in a situation where a field goal wouldn't have been enough for them to take back the lead.

agreed but giving Bo Levi a minute to get at least a FG with them starting at the 40, would have resulted in at least overtime. There would have been more opportunities to go to the endzone IMO

Fair, I wouldn't have bet against BLM in that situation, but alas, we will never know because of Butterfingers McGee pissed himself.

100%. Frustrating that we put ourselves in a position to win and found a way to lose it

i hear what youre getting at, but if the receiver is open on whatever numbered read that was, you darn well take that shot downfield when its there. Instead of playing to not lose, you trust the defense to do its job and not play scared. With the way this team is especially. But, in EE football of the last ten years, its very fitting it wasnt caught anyway.

If anything, he keeps the defence guessing. It's a nice option to have.
If all it took was falling forward nobody should get stuffed on 3rd and 1 or less. Yes he offers more options but generally there's nothing pretty or fancy about short yardage. All you want is enough inches to get another set of downs unless your short yardage play is from your opponent's 1. That's a much different situation that if you're gambling on your own side of midfield.
