This was his first time doing all three kicking jobs and did pretty well for a rookie, made a long field goal and had a few nice punts.Originally posted by Brock my Rock View PostBlanchard is hot garbage. Cant make any field goal over 40 yards.
while Catillo the guy Jones refused to pay make one from 63 yards.
Team is doomed.
He was also working with a new holder, a guy who’s never done that job before in Cole Snyder and he botched at least one of the holds, not sure what happened on the other miss.
Also, he was 11/12 on his last 13 kicks coming into this game and again, is a raw rookie.
He’s looking like a great young kicker.

Couple of quick thoughts:
I’ve been hard on 0 Williams this season and for good reason but he had a better game last night and made a few nice plays.
The secondary as a whole seemed to be tackling better which is great but we should t be giving up 380 yards passing to Nick Arbuckle.
Dublanko would look great in the middle but at WIL he’s getting burned constantly in the passing game, teams have seen it on film and are constantly throwing to the outside in his direction and he is just not built for that. We need Nick back asap.
Dline had a pretty solid game over all but it’s still infuriating to watch them collapse the pocket and then leave a giant lane open for the QB to escape when it should be a guaranteed sack, they made Arbuckle look elusive on a few plays where they should have had him.
Offense stalled out a little in the middle of the game, at one point I was almost thinking it would be nice to give Ford a series just to try and knock the TO D off balance and hopefully spark something for Cody.
OL had a better game opening holes in the run game and surrendered zero sacks I believe.
I think our receiving core is pretty solid but it’s a bit disappointing that nobody has really emerged as the clear number one guy there. KJG has looked good the past two weeks, Dunbar is dependable, KGJ seems to be there one week and invisible the next, kinda need a game breaker in there.
Rankin is a beast, seems to be the most complete player I can remember seeing in a long time, the guy can do it all. Best player on our team for sure.
ST’s still solid, Vinny had some struggles at times but that is to be expected when you put so much extra responsibility onto such a young inexperienced player but overall I thought he handled it pretty well. He’s only going to continue to get better and may even develop into that elusive kicker who can do all three jobs down the road. I remember Kilam saying that he’s got more leg talent than any kicker he’s seen in this league in a long time.

Great post Ben, it’s nice to see that the arrow is pointing up for us for a change. While our D did give up a fair amount of yards through the air, we did well against the run and most importantly we kept them to 20 points.Originally posted by ben_the_eskimo View PostCouple of quick thoughts:

this game felt like a late October game, not an August game as it was COLD in there

Only thing I’ll say is no other team in the league is saying get the back up in cos we’re having a bad drive or two..Originally posted by ben_the_eskimo View PostCouple of quick thoughts:

we have had that to much here last couple of years.. it’s 7’s team and it shows. Let him work through the road bumps
agree With a lot of the rest… especially about the young kicker doing 3 jobs… gotta roll with the punches there

Disturbing because I dislike ONE player ??? It’s disturbing that you think that way and how you defend Ford as a “starting” qb , I don’t “HATE” him as a human being , just don’t want him as a starter on the ESKIMOS , disturbing is you making the accusation of me , I’m a DIEHARD ESKIMOS fan of 50 plus years , its a free country to voice my opinion , there’s always one player on every team that someone’s dislikes on the team.If you don’t like my opinion don’t read or reply than , let me guess you loved every single player on every single team right ???Originally posted by eskfan152 View Post
Actually I didn’t, but your shear hatred for him as a player and it seems as a human being is somewhat disturbing.

Decent game. This team showing more and more resiliency through the expected waves of a professional football league game, Its such a good feeling to have when there were good plays and you belt out some enthusiasm at the tv screen, bar or wherever you were watching. Whether it was vs a weak Toronto team or not, still great to see.
On D seeing players hustle a little more and playing faster it seems. Getting to their spots and where they need to go

I’m not normally one to call for the back up QB, sometimes I think it’s detrimental because it can disrupt the rhythm and timing of the offence.Originally posted by cmbuk View Post

The only reason I suggested that is because Tre has such a different skillset I figure you could kill two birds with one stone by keeping a highly paid player engaged a little while also forcing opposing teams to prepare for both QBs, I 100% get letting Cody work through struggles though because that is necessary some times for sure.

Damn, that must have been while I was cooking dinner. I appreciate the correction.Originally posted by Brock my Rock View Post
You obviously were not watching. He missed not one not two but THREE. One from 25 yards.
Can his ass already.

We’re generating disruption with 4 ALOTOriginally posted by Brock my Rock View PostDL still a big concern. No sacks on stationary QBs. What happens when Rouke and Zack showup.
i will sit Brinkman in particular. Too slow.
NOT EVERYTHING has a stat.. we’re still not getting sacks but arbuckle threw a lot balls of platform because of that pressure
we’re not amazing but we’re not terrible

Think we can all agree Ford has a lot to learn and finally has a person who can teach him. I dont blame him for being pissy when MBT, corny etc are your other qbs over the years - they ain't gunna teach ****.
I actually thought cody had his worst game in weeks last night. Like I've been saying all year... USE RANKIN as he goes the offense goes. There is no other offense threat that can take over a game like Rankin does.
I still think they should give ford a series here and there.. see if he's learning anything.. maybe the 2nd half. Without being a Ninja and in the locker room and meetings we have no clue how Ford is taking being number 2 and if hes bought in to Learning from Cody for a possible shot at No.1 I watched Fords demeanor while on the bench, I did not see any signs of someone who is pouting. Numerous times he sat with cody on the bench and looking over the Ipad. Seemed engaged and learning what Cody was spittin' Never looked mad, depressed - smiling and pointing at the Ipad with Cody.
