I think you are to quick to give us the W in that Hamilton game. Even if KJG catches that ball, we left BLM almost a minute on the clock. I'm not putting that W in the bank in that situation.

We signed Carter O'Donnell!!!!!!!! great addition to an oline that has been missing something.

My thoughts on the game, now that I've calmed down:
      1. I thought the game was closer then the final score. I know some of our passing yards came in garbage time but if you can hold a team to 162 yards passing and 125 yards rushing for a total of 287 yards, you should be in the game
      2. Our D has been getting better and better. Really like the way Ross has been playing.
      3. Thought Fajardo was off all day, plenty of balls were sailed or short.
      4. I thought the turning point was the missed field goal at the half.
I think our season is over but I'm happy with the progression that should lead into 2026 success with some tweaks and continuity.

If we're getting a healthy Carter O'Donnell, I think we're getting an upgrade on the OL - and a much needed one. That is a great signing.

And Looner, I suppose Calgary's offence wasn't sizzling either but I didn't ever really feel like we were in reach. That said, if you get the field goal early - as you mentioned as a turning point -maybe that changes it a lot. Also, that late goal line stand where Edmonton failed to get points was a killer. If you punch it in from inside the five (which you should do every time) you're at 28-14 with about two minutes to go. All of a sudden, an onside kick or a good stop and you might have momentum to be respectable.

I agree on the defence, and it's nice to see considering some of the injuries with Metchie out for a while, Anderson out, and various banged up DL. For the negative comments early, I think that unit has progressed well. It will be interesting to see how they shore up the LB corps if Morgan is out. Would think Dublanko maybe goes to his natural position (and despite some adjustments in pass coverage, I think he's been good out of position and on teams) and someone else draws in.

It can't be undersold that all of Blanchard's misses this year came in games where it was the first start with that holder except the miss in Montreal which was a long one and was in a game where he suddenly had to add punting to his duties. I just can't remember whether the miss was before or after Grace was injured.

He'll adjust. And if he doesn't it may be worth questioning whether Julien has some issues in how he sets the ball considering Bede fell off a cliff last year from how he kicked the prior year with Julien as his holder.
Totally. I think that considering he’s a rookie and he’s had to go through a few changes in holders he’s doing a respectable job, and seems to have the potential to be pretty good one day from what I can see.

What a great addition! I didn’t see that coming at all!

Agree with your assessment of the game, for the most part I didn’t really feel like we were being blown out. I thought the defence (who we were all critical of for good reason early on in the year) did a good job of holding us in it so I was just waiting for the Offence to come to life but unfortunately it never happened…

I said going in that this game was gonna be a measurement of our progress and that measurement came up short. Disappointing but it is what it is. I still have faith in Ed to see what was missing yesterday and take the proper actions towards fixing it.

I agree, we were in that game and did some things well but unfortunately it just may be the case that we don’t have the horses to beat the top teams…

Anyone know what Oline position O'Donnell plays?
Can he play tackle because I have felt the tackles haven't been good hardly at all this year.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

You’re right. I think the interior has had its struggles at times but I have much more faith int Beard and Korte to sort it out than I do when it comes to the tackles… even tho Ivey did have one good season recently…

Its just odd. We had almost the same line last year, made what would be perceived as an upgrade with the Beard addition and have the same line coach but they seem much worse. Has to have something to do with the play calling or the way the protection has been set up.

Actually just read he can play tackle or guard

                          100%

Makes me think that JJack doesn’t get enough credit for designing an office that worked well for our personal… probably should have kept him but I get that it probably wouldn’t have worked for the guys in the room.

I agree. I expected the Oline to be decent this year as they seemed to find their form and be pretty solid for at least 1/3 of last year. Then with the addition of Beard who I felt was an upgrade to the line because it allowed Korte to slide over to guard and he should be better then Foucault. But they haven't been very good for a lot of this season. None of them are old either. Boyko is the oldest at 33.

Probably a dumb question, but wouldn't he have practiced with the holder?
