We're hanging on by a thread at this point but its nice to be heading into the second last game of the season with a chance at making the playoffs. With a 6-2 record in our last 8, there is plenty of signs that we are finally heading in the right direction.

While selfishly I want things to go right this weekend (Edmonton win, Calgary loss and Winnipeg loss and Montreal win) because Edmonton would still be alive, but also because of how cool it would be to go into the final weekend with some much still at stake.
With this scenario there would still be 4 different teams that could take the 3rd seed in the West or Crossover, and 3 different teams that could still host a home playoff game with 2 of them still potentially at risk of missing altogether.
Throw in 1st place in the East being up for grabs and all 4 games could have playoff implications with 6 of the teams needing to win to improve their playoff positioning. Throw in one team playing their guaranteed last game of the year playing for their jobs, should make for an entertaining weekend.

Yeah, that one kind of annoys me and surprises me knowing that Winnipeg is such a bitter rival that you'd think they'd want to essentially end their season, then just rest their starters the following week against a team very likely to be their Western Final opponent (to not give them any tips). League mandate to help out the grey cup host?Originally posted by Looner View Post

All that said, Meier's numbers this year have been fine, he did win his lone start of the season and he'll be hungry to show well, so who knows. Probably would be even sweeter for wheatie fans to see their team put a major nail in their biggest rival's playoff hopes and complete a season sweep while using limited starters.

Gavin Cobb starting for the Bombers in a must win game says it all.Originally posted by Maas_12 View Postthe only thing i will add is...if im not mistaken...Ssk AT wpg (toughish place to play).....with sask resting their starters if not all? not hopeful on this piece
Also think Riders will be just as good with Robustelli, Bane, and Ajou who have ben catching balls from Maier all year in practice. They'll miss Ouellette but Bertrant - Hudon has been good.
Elks might be better off not knowing who wins and to just focus on their game. I wish them well.

Wpg was absolutely putrid.
Bit of a lift with Coan in 4th not moving the ball as efficiently as Meier. Shiettt
