Last game of the year, will be interesting to see what the depth chart looks like when it comes out. Will say a lot about Tre Fords future here in Edmonton.

After hearing the other days’ Killam and Fajardo media avails , i dont get the hunch we will be seeing Ford… at all even? I mean just thinking back to regular season short yardage or a quick package for him to change it up for the opposition when Ford would fit that situation perfectly with his legs, it never happened, not a peep. Then the comments last week about future in CFL. Just seems writing is on the wall. Went out of his way to answer the question by torquing it to be that his future is CFL , even though it was about on this roster.
in terms of asset management, i think he should full bore get this game though. Just makes sense from all angles.
if not, this rift is probably much larger than we expected

With Ford's time coming to an end, it begs the question "what the **** happened in that BC game?"
To refresh everyone's memory prior to that game Ford's stats were in line with the rest of the league. https://static.cfl.ca/wp-content/upl...istics-Wk5.pdf (go to page 5).
His biggest issue was the deep pass to wide receivers and that he didn't go there often, but Fajardo wasn't exactly a superstar at the 30+ yard pass either. So what happened that burned the bridges to the point where he never saw the field ever again.
If it's performance based, it seems absolutely absurd to run out of town the guy you signed multi-year with guaranteed money because of one bad game.

Maybe the fan base has to come to the realization that Ford doesn't have it, at least not for the Elks?Originally posted by bone View PostWith Ford's time coming to an end, it begs the question "what the **** happened in that BC game?"

He's on his 3rd HC and 3 OC and they all seem to come to the conclusion after he gets some playing time that he's not the guy. Was he developed properly early on? I would say no but if there was something there as a QB other than just a great athlete, you'd think after that many coaches, someone would see it.
I was a guy pulling for Ford but 3 different coaching regimes seem to come to the same conclusion that he's not the guy. He got a little more rope with Jackson but clearly whatever improvements he may have shown aren't there. If he stays, I have to think they have to restructure his contract.Last edited by Sectionq; 10-23-2025, 12:31 PM.Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

look, i truthfully dont think its solely performance based, as there is something there to develop or at least see again progression here and there, or at least use the athletic ability on certain down and distance. The smoke from before, is probably a fire, as in regards to attitude. This is probably a case of performance not up to snuff, but then doubling down and not willing to learn or take criticism. This is my hunch.
if your play is terrible, 99percent of the time the coach just demotes/ cuts you, why create conflict to prove a point? this is a business.
this has to be personality conflict. we have Killam going out of his way to do all this. we had chris jones make some pointed comments in media.
heck, my cousin got this man a steak meal when he ate alone after first home win in however long.
i wanted him to work here... but man. just too muchLast edited by Maas_12; 10-23-2025, 12:49 PM.

My point is that it has to be something more than whether he "has it" or not. It's not like he was totally terrible in the first four games, he just needed to get through his reads better but this was also at a time where the oline never gave anyone more than 2 steam boats before the backfield was flooded with the other teams d-line, but he still generated at a similar clip to Fajardo in terms of points without the benefit of all the turnovers the defense gave Fajardo as the season progressed.Originally posted by Sectionq View Post

Totally giving up on a guy that 2 months earlier was considered your long term starter with a multi-year contract with guaranteed money over what was 4 average games with stats similar to VAJ and Rourke over that same span then one really bad game makes absolutely no sense unless there is something else that happened not related to performance.
It's not even like we can point to anti-canadian bias as a Canadian HC with a Canadian OC you'd think would only want to see a Canadian succeed more than their american counterparts. Ford clearly has said some bad **** to the wrong guy (or guys). Wonder if he called out the Oline for their terrible start to the season.

Don't you ever call me Brock Sunderland.Originally posted by Brock my Rock View PostHis performance was not as good as Rouke ir VA. He sucked from the begining. So I call u BS.
time to take our loses and trade him out east and get something. Pinball you are a nice man. Help a bro out.
I didn't say his performance was as good as theirs, but the numbers were in the ballpark enough that's it's puzzling that one game after that ended his career as an Elk. Especially seeing the same team he played twice in those 5 games just delivered easily Fajardo's worst start of the year.

All speculation of course but It seems like such a no brainer to have a package of plays for him to run that I'm starting to wonder if he's refusing to go on the field unless he's the starter. Its tough to build around someone who won't do whatever they can to help the team win, no matter what their skill set is.Originally posted by bone View Post

Didn't one of his starts produce a perfect passer rating as well?Originally posted by bone View Post

Killam gets on my nerves.. there's something about him I dont like.... ... I won't be watching if I have to sit thru another Cody game for completion stats and a meaningless game. foook that.Originally posted by bone View PostDepth chart is up. Not only is Ford not starting but being demoted to 3rd stringer on the depth chart. Killam's done with him clearly. Putting him 2nd or 3rd on the listed depth chart makes no difference in terms of how they may use the players, so it must be to send him a message.
