They need to bring in someone with experience. Can't go with Zebrowski in the number 2 spot. Hopefully all of the backup QBs with experience make it to FA and EH can get the best pick of the litter.Originally posted by dealerd View Post

Listening to Hervey yesterday, they seem pretty high on Snyder. I am sure they will probably in another QB or 2 as once you take Ford off the roster, they only have 3 listed. But whoever thy bring in, has to be a guy who has the skillset that the HC and OC think will work for what they want to do as a team and an offensive system. Based on how after his starts at the beginning of the season, they didn't play Ford at all, it seems like the HC and OC felt Ford didn't fit into the offensive system they wanted to play.Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

In a perfect world, you have Fajardo here for a couple of season with whoever behind him to learn from the guy and when Fajardo is done, the young guys is ready to step in.Originally posted by cmbuk View Post

If you are a young QB with hopes of finding a starting spot where you might start soon then I would think Edmonton, Saskatchewan, and Hamilton would be the places you would want to be. I mean maximum 2 seasons from now they should all have new starting QBs if you believe what the incumbents have been saying in terms of continuing to want to play. You might throw Winnipeg in there as well based on Zach's age although I haven't heard him talking about retirement so not sure about that one. Ottawa might also be an option based on Brown being somewhat injury prone and unproductive. BC, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal you are looking at strictly being the backup for the unforeseen future although I guess Adams is getting a bit up there.Originally posted by BeaverSports View PostAs much as this release is timed with and predicated upon the roster bonus, I'd think the Elks have a plan to bring someone in at the backup position. It should be rpretty attractive given that Fajardo has openly mused about retiring. For the right guy, it might not be too long to wait.
That's another reason why I want someone with experience in the backup role as Fajardo said the odds of him retiring this past season was 75%. If this is his last year will Snyder be ready to start next season? There have been very few QBs that have been able to take the starter's job with that few seasons in the system. Davis Alexander was in his third year with the club (in the number 3 spot ) before he showed he could start when Fajardo got injured. Maybe Snyder is ready after another year of Fajardo but it's a bit of a gamble in my opinion and the Elks need to get a playoff spot this year so hopefully Cody stays healthy ad they find a little bit of experience to play behind him at least for this upcoming season.“RUN THE DANG BALL!" -Leigh Anne Tuohy character from the film The Blind Side

Which was another reason why I thought a Ford for Powell trade was possible. I think Powell and Crum will both be testing FA. Hopefully we get one of them. When you look at it from the player's perspective it makes sense that all 3 of them go to FA to give themselves more choices.Originally posted by Maas_12 View PostSo ticats re signed Dolegala to two years and one other qb apparently, so it seems(?)
