I dont have too much of an issue with him at RB outside of taking reps from Rankin. I just don't want him returning... He's a former shell of himself here - like everyone else - Gizmo curse. Which is odd considering Killam is a special teams guru - I just think it'd be nice to see someone try to take the reigns in the return game.

Coach Killer has talked about the fact that our ST’s unit is young and inexperienced outside of the specialty guys so I think we’re just seeing the growing pains in the blocking schemes more than we are seeing a decline of Leake.Originally posted by Looner View Post
I'm still a big Leake fan as he average 5.8 yards per carry with 4 of 10+ and 2 of 20+ but was impressed with Powell's pre season, in the last game he had 6 carries for 37 yards.
I think the biggest problem with our return game is that we are using a lot of young players there.

so every year we have **** special teams it was because of youth?Originally posted by ben_the_eskimo View Post

So we are finally at the point where we can talk about clinching scenarios.
Clinching playoffs
A win on Saturday clinches playoffs.
A loss on Saturday by less than 10 points, would require 2 more wins or 2 Calgary losses and 1 Hamilton loss or combinations thereof
A loss by more than 10 points would require 3 more wins or 3 Calgary losses and 1 Hamilton loss or combinations thereof.
Clinching first West appearance since 2017.
A win on Saturday drops the number of wins required to 2 wins or 2 losses by WPG or combinations thereof.
A loss on Saturday by less than 10 points, would require 3 wins or 3 losses by WPG, 2 Calgary losses and 1 Hamilton loss or combinations thereof
A loss by more than 10 points would require 3 more wins or 3 Winnipeg and Calgary losses and 1 Hamilton loss or combinations thereof.
Clinching first home playoff game since 2015.
A 4-2 record clinches a home game and if one of those wins is in Sask, it clinches home for the West Final.
A 3-3 record would clinch a home game provided BC loses one of their final 6 games. 3-3 could also clinch the West Final provided one of the wins is vs. Sask and both Sask and BC loses one other game each in their final 6.
Remaining schedules
EDM - vs. CGY, at Tor, vs. Ham, at Ham, vs. WPG at SSK
SSK - at WPG, at BC, vs. CGY, at MTL, vs. MTL, vs. EDM.
BC - vs. MTL, vs. SSK, at TOR, vs. OTT, at CGY, vs. WPG
WPG - vs SSK, vs. TOR, at MTL, vs. CGY, at EDM, at BC
CGY - at EDM, vs. OTT, at OTT, at SSK, at WPG, vs. BC

dang thats some scenarios for sure but its pretty wicked to be considering this rather then just trying to hang onto faint playoff hopesOriginally posted by bone View PostSo we are finally at the point where we can talk about clinching scenarios.

Yeah, it's nice to be looking at these where the team has ultimate control of their destiny with room for a mistep or two as well.Originally posted by Looner View Post

Any thoughts on who sits down when Luther is healthy? He has been great all season but Robusteli has looked great as well outside of a few drops/mis-run routes which can be attributed to rust. Maybe one of Julien-Grant or O’Leary Orange but they’ve both played their role well and the have the non-import status.
It’s definitely a good problem to have!

I have the same thoughts with a Logan return, how do you take Reid out of the lineup? or when Leake is ready to return, how do you take Powell out?Originally posted by Cerebral View PostAny thoughts on who sits down when Luther is healthy? It's great to see. It's a sign that the coaching staff has really re-enforced systems play so that the drop off isn't as drastic when someone has to come out, and that Hervey's recruiting the right types of players. What I'm loving is that this year doesn't feel like it is about a couple "superstar" players having exceptional seasons. It's a just a well rounded group where everyone plays for each other.Originally posted by Looner View Post

BC - vs. MTL, vs. SSK, at TOR, vs. OTT, at CGY, vs. WPG
WPG - vs SSK, vs. TOR, at MTL, vs. CGY, at EDM, at BC
CGY - at EDM, vs. OTT, at OTT, at SSK, at WPG, vs. BC
Clinching playoffs - Done
Clinching first West appearance since 2017.
Magic number of 2 meaning 2 wins or 2 losses by WPG or combinations thereof. Alternatively the magic number vs. BC is 3, but WPG plays BC once so one of them has to lose one.
Clinching first home playoff game since 2015.
Magic Number 3, or for home Western Final 4.
Earliest possible clinch date Sat. September 26th if Edmonton wins both of the next two games and Sask beats BC on the 25th.
A 3-2 record clinches a home game and if one of those wins is in Sask or if Sask loses a single game in the final 5, it clinches home for the West Final.
A 2-3 record would clinch a home game provided BC loses one of their final 5 games or Sask loses 2. 2-3 could also clinch the West Final provided one of the wins is vs. Sask and both Sask and BC loses one other game each in their final 5.
Remaining schedules
EDM - at Tor, vs. Ham, BYE, at Ham, vs. WPG at SSK (Combined records 30-35)
SSK - Bye, at BC, vs. CGY, at MTL, vs. MTL, vs. EDM. (Combined records 42-23)
BC - Bye, vs. SSK, at TOR, vs. OTT, at CGY, vs. WPG (Combined records 27-37)
WPG - Bye, vs. TOR, at MTL, vs. CGY, at EDM, at BC (Combined records 39-26)
