Edmonton's offense looked extremely rusty and out of sync for the first half. Cody is usually fairly accurate but he was missing open receivers all over the place. Guys dropping balls. Oline wasn't opening holes. Rankin looked like he wasn't hitting what few holes there were quick enough. A few penalties at bad times. The new returner either was really nervous and making mistakes, not seeing the ball very well, misjudging it or had crappy hands as he seemed to be struggling on punts and kicks at catching the ball. Then the Stamps forced a fumble on Cody that resulted in points after the defender with no one close to him tripped and fell leaving a receiver wide open in the endzone. Then Cody throws a really bad pick that resulted in a late TD. I don't even think Cody looked at where the receiver/DB were in relation to 1 another, he just chucked it to a spot and it was an easy pick. Even DB's were dropping a few what should have been interceptions.

I almost turned it off after the Stamps went up 25-7 because I felt I had seen that game way too many times before. Everything that could go wrong was going wrong on top of the offense sputtering. But I have to give these guys credit. They seem to have a coaching staff that doesn't let these guys get down or quit. They seem to have a coaching staff that can make adjustments at half or even on the fly. As an example, benching Rankin for most of the second half was ballsy as hell. I probably wouldn't have done it but it was the right call. Powell provided a spark and it probably lit a fire under Rankin as he came in late in the game, did a Rankin and busted one for a TD. Then I have to give MASSIVE credit to Hervey. The guy has filled this team with guys who put team first, who don't quit and can play. One guy goes down, the next guy comes in and they look just as good and the team just rolls on.

I am pretty impressed with the team and their resiliency. That being said, while exciting and an emotional roller coaster, I would be totally fine if they just came out and beat the Stamps from the first quarter on as they are clearly the more talented team.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

Putting Powell into the game as RB while sitting Rankin had a positive effect on Rankin. Good coaching move.

I suspect the EE won’t make many changes if players are healthy and good to go….

I suspect Calgary will make a number of lineup changes for the rematch. DD won’t be happy….

        My 3 Cents…

              Side question…

Who is the guy sitting beside our OC in the press box? They have shown a feed of the EE press box multiple occasions and he looks familiar but can’t place a name…
