Esks Brand Research Survey

Those of you who are season ticket holders have probably received this survey via electronic mail recently.

This survey is surprisingly in depth and gives you a chance to respond with explanations for why you feel the way you do about certain aspects of the club. I feel that this info could be valuable to the organization and applaud the effort to reach out to the fan base.

I would encourage those of you who feel inclined to take the time to fill this out, I don't believe you need to be a season ticket holder to complete it. Here's the link to the survey:

Thanks for the link - guess you need a code supplied by the Esks to proceed, but I would definitely encourage any season tix holders to get their opinions heard!

Pretty in-depth is right! Now, let's see if they release what they found and if they actually go ahead with what us season ticket holders have been saying.

We received it twice since the little guy's seats are in his name so I filled one out and the TW filled out the other. We compared notes as we went and it was interesting to hear some of her complaints and kudos compared to mine. A lot of stuff was similar though. It will be interesting to see what happens out of it, but in all honesty...I don't see it resulting in much.
Some things mentioned as examples...in no particular order.
- Family washrooms at CW are disgusting and embarrasing...
- Grey Cup Plaques on East Wall instead of inside where the opposing team can see them? Duh...
- Same old tired gametime script...this is when we say Green and they say Gold...this is when Bryan butchers the fight song...this is when dumbas& yells who wants the ball back?
- Get rid of Bryan Hall singing for the love of God!!!
- The gong show that is the "tailgate party" before the games and all the stuff that's been mentioned here that's wrong with it.
- Mentioned the little to no advertising about the LRT & Park/Ride system. It's crazy how many people you see buying transit tickets going to the game...

There was a bunch of stuff that we both agreed they were doing right or were heading in the right direction so it wasn't a total pile on...

All cool - I'd be curious to see what everyone focused on in the surveys they filled out, if they're okay with discussing that info. Reminding people to get them in is another good reason for the post!

Those who didn't get this via the insider, expect a phone call. Just got off the phone with Bannister doing this survey via phone.

Said most of the stuff as Boydo, and included getting the proper gold field markings.

Did my survey a few days ago. I didn't pile on, but I was not too forgiving either. Many of the things that are discussed on this site as issues with the stadium and the EEFC were included in my feedback. Would love for the team to release the results, but that won't happen. Can't remember ever getting something like this before so I'm hoping that the Esks realize that things are not perfect and will make changes to improve the on filed and off field product. Props to the Esks for doing the survey.

My overwhelming theme was that the organization as a whole is trending upwards (personnel-wise, etc.) after the debacles we've had, and it's going to take some time.

That being said, when I was brought up on this team, there were a lot of things - big and small - that made this team and this experience special, that no other team had. Now there's very little to really differentiate us from anyone else.

Why no mini footballs on the upper decks?

Sad to see upper deck children crying because of no mini footballs for them. Their tears hurt me. I feel sorry for them. Not the way to make future fans.

I counted last game and the firemen threw 3 mini-footballs on the East side total on the last run. 3...that's it. Didn't count how many were thrown by the other crew but you'd think they'd be willing to get rid of them a little more than that. They're sure to have boxes and boxes of them!!!

The gist of it is what I always complain about....

Security - There needs to be a separate line for people that are checking bags and people that don't have bags to check. There are those stupid tables that security leaves as much room as our o-line gives Charles running up the gut. So there is this huge backlog of people trying to get in but we can because security wants us to slide between two tables. I go in by the NE gate. Lets not forget to mention that security has a crappy "nightclub" attitude. This is a family event not a nightclub so lose the attitude boys! Esks continue to fail on this one year after year.

Coaching - Well I told em to throw loads of money into getting better coaches. Stop making rookie coaching mistakes. We haven't had a decent coah here since Higgins.

Esksfans - I did tell them about the site and told em I come here often to discuss CFL.

Tailgate - Well this has been a failure of epic proportions. I told em that no one wants to see a crummy band and pay high beer prices before the game. I go to the Endzone pub where the beer is a lot less. I made mention of having discussions for example. Bring Gregor in to talk to the fans, we could meet the practice roster players. Esks trivia would be fun with some prizes. There are lots of things to do other than listen to loud music from a crummy band and I can't even have a discussion with people.
If anyone wants to meet at the Endzone pub for good respectable talk then please come on down. I'd like to meet you. Gungadin and I usually go before every game. If you are going to not be respectful then don't bother.
On field - Told em that we need to change the scipt and change Chris Sheetz. He's been doing it for too long.
I think that was about it...lol

almost to a t what I said in my reply for the survey. For tailgating I referenced Calgary's parking lot fan tailigating they had a few years back - still some of the best fun I had at a game was having some beers at a stamps fan's pickup truck...


in regards to your complaint about the tables - you know if you dont have a bag you dont need to line up right ? Granted I dont know how other gates work, but I enter gate 6, and i never have a backpack with me, so I just walk past the tables to the gates just on the right of the tables... been doing that every year since they brought the tables out - and not 1 security person told me otherwise - and I've chatted up quite a few of them while waiting...
