Yes, that was pretty sweet. I was thinking I should have made it clearer that I was talking about the second half. Of the Eskimos last nine possessions (including the last three of the first half) they all started inside their own 16 except the opening drive of the second half. It is just a testament as to how well they played that they put up a goose egg, considering where they were starting.

I was thinking the Eskimos should have had two people back for the punt returns based on who crappy the greenwhites punts were and how much bouncing around they were doing.

I have been saying this for years now. If the punt is short, you would have one guy who could run up on it and take it on the run and not allow the ball to take a crazy (backward) bounce.....

As I recall, there was another sequence in the first half that started at our 4 and on the first play from scrimmage Blanco ripped off a 60-yd gallop....
And speaking of garbage time, what was Cortez thinking when he called for that short pass up the middle to convict Smith who was absolutely blown up by Alonzo Lawrence and may have suffered a serious rib injury?

I think Taj Smith knows all about deliberate attempts to injure. Ask him.

He was lazily jogging through the middle too on that last play. It was a clean but vicious hit and in no way low, or at the head or anything but within the rules. His own lackadaisical effort and Doege's suicide pass are what's to blame

Over at RF, they're furious at Lawrence, saying he should have let up with one second left and that it was a deliberate attempt to injure.

Two answers: (1) it's football, and that was exactly what you expect a player in Lawrence's position to do. (2) I think Taj Smith knows all about deliberate attempts to injure. Ask him.

The Eskimos' final touchdown drive started from their worst starting position (the Edmonton 5 yard line, after Grymes Int). It started with 4:14 left in the game and ate up 3:22 of the clock. Funny how people on some sites would call that scoring a touchdown in 'garbage time'. It was only garbage time because the Eskimos turned it into garbage time. Especially hilarious when the 'garbage time' claim was used to defend their teams defensive performance.
