As per Jaimeson's show today, he indicated that the Esks denied the wheaties permission to approach CJ. I'm guessing that contract extension he signed is solid.
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood
So do Lawless' prognostication failures only work in sports, or does it extend to business and politics as well?
If yes, Gary, can you let me know your stock picks for 2016...oh and who will win the US Presidential elections?
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
How can they ask permission while the Esks are still playing?
They have already asked Ottawa for permission to talk to their Assistant GM Brock Sunderland. They have asked Calgary About John Murphy (and they were still in the playoffs). They are just asking teams for permission to talk to these guys, they are not interviewing, the interview will obviously come after the Grey Cup.

Alright, fair enough. I was just under the impression they couldn't (or wouldn't?) ask before the team was done playing.
Have other teams asked during GC week before?

If I remember right during the last three weeks of the season. (Playoffs and Grey Cup) teams are not allowed to approach another team that is in the playoffs regarding coaches or players. Asking to speak to a coach could result in a fine, but it's up to the team that's being asked. So the League would fine the Whiners if the Esks deemed it tampering.

It's a douchebag move to do something like this during this time which is why it wouldn't surprise me if they did ask...
Just wait and make any announcements next week...quit acting like the ugly step sister that didn't get asked to the prom.
If you wanna be the best you Gotta get the best...
Fair play to the top brass for saying no... The guy only signed an extension this year
Yeah, but the extension is only until the end of 2016. Good article on it here: http://www.edmontonsun.com/2015/05/3...the2016-season
At the time i thought it was too short and still do. IF CJ is really happy here and wants to stay here longish term then so be it. Esks will just have to open up the pocket book larger than they otherwise would have had to.

Its our job, as fans of the team, to show a rise in attendance or merchandise sales so that the BOG can see we are on the upswing and to open up the pocket book when needed.

The difference between them and most every other team in the league is that they look out for themselves and themselves only, while other teams help each other out in times of need.
