Champions!

It's been six days since the Esks were crowned Grey Cup champions. In the last week, various distractions have been thrown our way, making it all to easy to obscure the great accomplishment of our team, and move it into the past.

Let's put that aside, and return to celebrating this moment. It's been a long time coming, and we have a whole year to celebrate our return!

Champs, boys. Don't let any other bulls**t cloud your good thoughts. We waited 10 years through Maciocia and Tillman BS to be here and feel like this. Don't let one move change anything. It was all worth it to celebrate on November 29th.

I think Glen should calculate how many ounces of liquid joy have been in the Cup over the years. Being a math professor I am sure he can calculate it based on probability and statistics.

And if he can't he can just pass it on to his students. Just do it for the 14 Eskimo wins. Who cares about the rest?

The only active CFL cities that we haven't won the Grey Cup in are Ottawa, Hamilton (thanks Jake!) and at home.

I feel for Fred Stamps and Matt Nichols, 2 guys that toiled for the Green and Gold for years, but left before we hit pay dirt. Fred may not have contributed this year, but he was our go to guy for years, and it's unfortunate that all those years just happened to coincide with our dry spell. Meanwhile, Matt may not have the leadership of Reilly out the potential of Franklin, and unfortunately injuries limited what his role might have become, but he did hold the fort for us when Reilly went down at the beginning of the season, when many were worried that meant the season would be flushed, and helped keep us in the hunt for first until Reilly returned.

They won't get a Grey Cup win as an Eskimo, and that's my only bit of disappointment about the Grey Cup...is that we also didn't win in last year when they were in the lineup.

You know when they present the Super Bowl, and they call the winning team world champions? The CFL needs to start doing that. Because the Grey Cup winner IS the world champion of our brand of football.

Ladies and gentlemen, your world champion Edmonton Eskimos.

I like the sound of that.
