    GDT: Als at Esks

This is a very winnable game today, but potentially very losable. The season could be defined here. Does everyone show up, play a full 60 minutes and give ourselves a chance to get back into the playoff hunt? Or do we waste another home game and start thinking about next year already?

First home game I'm going to miss in a long time putting my cat Nutmeg down tomorrow as she has cancer. Going to miss her she would sit on the sofa with me and watch all the road games together and occasionally steal a potato chip from my hand, wanted one more game with her before tmro. Anyway huge game tonight need to play smart and not let Duron beat us deep.

Sorry to hear about Nutmeg. Pets are the best friends in the world.
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

Pretty much a must win tonight I would think.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

Yup. Given the schedule and the number of road games, even an improving team would have a hard time recovering from 2-5.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

I'm really hoping that with our full compliment of starters back on the o-line, we see some holes for John White tonight. We can't keep throwing the ball to Bowman and Walker in double coverage.
Defense had a much improved game last week. Hoping the growth continues.
Special teams? Doe needs to be better; Shaw needs to be better too.
              Less penalties, but stay aggressive!

                Must win...
                - Play some man and quit giving the receivers so much cushion to make big plays!
                - Quit getting stupid procedure penalties...and there's no reason we should get a time count violation at home!!! Put some oven mitts on the oline...
                - Yay 54-40!
                - Run the damned ball. Seriously...give it a whirl...
                - Give Mike some more protection and don't let the Als manhandle him.

I agree about running the ball. They are having protection problems so establishing a running game slows down the rush. If anything, change things up. The offense has stunk the last few games, try something new.

I know that the last thing anyone likes to hear is "pull the QB!"...but maybe a change of pace would help? Mike seems "off" and I don't know what it is. I'm just thinking of Maas and Ray working off each other and hoping maybe it's just a matter of needing a couple series on the sidelines to see something you've been missing.

I think it all solves itself with the Oline returning to full strength.

Need to stop this derailing train badly. Very winnable game but with this team thus far it doesn't mean much.

                            What I hope to see...

-Run the ball is one part of it...but we need to have John White make something happen when he does see the ball. He has been pretty invisible save for the first game of the year.
-MR needs to have a bit of faith and not get the happy feet early. When that happens he tends to play a pretty rough game.
-Stretch the defense. This team has been woefully inept this year with deep balls. We need those to keep the defense honest.
-Defensively...we need that front four to become a presence. Kevin Glenn isn't the most mobile QB and has been known to hold onto the ball. Get to him before he gets into a rhythm because he can win a football game for them.
-We need this defense to start swarming to the ball because this passive stuff just allows the opposing offense to get into a rhythm.
-Even the slightest sign of life from Doe would be greatly appreciated. And Grant Shaw needs to punt like we know he can so their offense isn't consistenly starting at their own 45 or 50 all game long.

so pretty much the same things we say needs to happen almost every game for years Nice to see its always the same issue no matter what year...that means it SHOULD be fixable.

I have no idea if we can win or if we can lose. I've seen both versions of the esks this season so Its a crap shoot to which shows up tonight
