I'm guessing they're playing the Friday as to not go head-to-head with the Women's World Cup.
They should be able to get a good crowd, a full two weeks to build it up and nothing else to really take the attention away.... other than the WWC hype, but they'll play first and I think there is room to hype two events. Will be interesting to see how much Urban spends on this, would also go a long way if they manage to win game one. Edmonton loves a winner, and the prospect of seeing a championship won at home would get people on the bandwagon.
This would also be a prime opportunity to get a season ticket campaign going, if they plan on staying...
