    I guess I'm a hate monger now.

    Since I'm being accused of it, I might as well do the crime. This from the head man at 13thman:

    Can you not see that your hypocrisy of using two accounts at 13thman and spreading hate at EF towards 13thman makes YOU as responsible as anyone for any bad feelings towards eskimo fans

    That sums up exactly why I left. I tried to explain there was a problem, nothing was done, I decided to fight fire with fire and got canned, and the attitude shown is that I'm at fault. Certain aspects are just Pavlovian.....

    Did I vent my frustration at what was going on there? You damn well right I did. Did I tell people that they shouldn't post there or direct venom towards any individual mod or admin member? No. Did others chime in with similar feelings as mine? Yes but apparently I'm at fault for that. Did I start a bunch of nasty threads about that site? No.

    I won't tell anyone where they should or shouldn't post but for that attitude to be shown towards someone who's contributed a hell of a lot to that site, should make you question how your own contributions are valued. To each then his/her own.

    Diez, I'll be honest; I fail to see how you spread hate towards 13th. I think that the board's record speaks for itself, that many of us have visited and posted there, but have said little about anything while you had the stones to stand up and be heard. I can understand why their mods would come here and do a little damage control, but to little avail. Pinning this on you, while a personal judgement call, is framing you as a fall guy. Hypocrisy? I fail to see that, too. Bottom line - all the best to 13th man and their members, and from my personal behalf, no hard feelings - it is still a good board; but their reaction and response to you and to other posters here is a bit unfair, and somewhat personal. Bad form.

              personally, I just wish this whole thing would blow right over.

              As a moderator at 13thman I can say that the sentiment of the mod staff has never been anti-Eskimo....they are in the same predicament that we mods here often find ourselves in (where and how do you set the line at free speech - what is legitimate discussion and what is pure rhetoric?).

              I don't think it's fair that D called you a troll Diez.....you can be a fiery poster for sure (I've certainly been guilty of that as well) as can just about anyone else from time to time. I myself reached a boil a few months back and needed to step away. I certainly don't fault anyone at 13thman for not being able to see the underlying issues that many here have noticed - that for a long time it was okay to rip on the Esks for all the evils and ills of the CFL. Now I'm not saying that we're the bastion of perfection, but we've been no more guilty than anyone else and for some of us who just tried to be offer an opinion contrary to that end we were either disregarded or rebuffed. Again....I don't blame anyone else who didn't see how bad it had become...but it has been much better lately.

              In the end....it comes down to a few things, sure maybe where once thick skin has been worn down with the constant negative sentiment, but that is all speculation and others will always hold themselves secure in their own beliefs, we can't change that anymore than they can change ours. It's trying to find a middle ground and a piece of turf that we all can share as fans of the CFL that is supposed to be the foundation of a site like 13thman. I think sometimes those of us that frequent sites outside of this one lose sight of that...and the same can be said of the fans of other teams doing the same. Make no mistake there are some really great people there...guys that no matter who they cheer for or where they come from that you would be glad to sit beside, tell stories, and share a pint or eight.....

              At the end of the day though, people have a choice to make where they decide to spend their time.....if it's here, there, or anywhere else....that is their choice whatever the reasons.....

                I stopped posting and going to 13th man early in 2005. I'm not criticizing the mods there, but I honestly felt that the Eskimos and their fans were becoming targets a little too much. I also didn't like the continuous peeing matches between fans of opposing teams. Supporting your team and giving out a few good natured jabs at the others is OK, but too many posters there were just idiots imo.
                I guess I could have tried to let people know how I felt like Diesel has done, but frankly, I just didn't have the energy or desire to fight that battle so I just walked away. Whatever, they can do or say what they want.

                  What got to me was that it was open game until some people decided to shove back and fight fire with fire. The all of a sudden people needed to be made examples of. I laughed like hell when I was gunned without so much as a PM by any mod expressing their concerns. Ths whole thing could have been avoided had someone, anyone over there would have taken 20secs to send me a PM. I guess I wasn't deserving of such in their eyes and I took that as a rather large insult. My mind was pretty made up by then. Then the "oh we're sorry we never should have let it go this far", and " we're going to clean things up, you'll see" stuff came out and I decided to lurk and see for myself.

                  With the new cap system news, what I saw was the same old, same old. Fish you even agreed as such. People refusing to use or accept reason and the pissing contests began again. Then for myself and other fans opinions to be patronized and and berated both publicly here and privately ( "You'll be back." " I see no reason to shut your account down." "You'll come accross as a sore loser." "You're being thin skinned." etc etc) by 3 admin types there, I saw no reason to be a part of it any longer. The sentiment expressed to me in the content of the first post here was the icing on the cake.

                  They wanted to make an example, fine, but no one uses me that way, I don't stand for it. I just do what I always do, call a spade a shovel.

                  Things will blow over soon enough but I had to clear the air.

                    Seeing that my account was also gunned from lionbackers and that I was called a troll would seem to indicate that it is personal on their end.

                            I thought that this topic was over with your dramatic departure on 13thman. I see that you are perpetuating your exit.

                            1. Going public with a PM is a large error on your part.

                            2. Showing an edited version of the entire PM's leaves one to speculate that the trolling context had to do with LB'ers banning and not anything to do with your posting at 13thman, I am sure D will clarify that though if he chooses to.

                            3. You certainly were given more latitude than most posters ever have on 13thman, more than the complaining of posts that suggest Esk bashing. Esks were pinned to be the highest spending team....Eskimo management admitted so yesterday. Esks trade was debated as being unethical but within the rules.....the SMS resolved issues that were debated with it.

                            4. You were called out on your version of not going back to 13thman, all the while using another alias to view it under. That is hypocritical, and once the possibility of this was aired, you threw in the towel on the site, blameing others all the while. Sometimes looking in the mirror is important, this is one of those times Diesel for yourself. 13thman may not of given you the support that you were looking for, but on the other hand you didn't exactly give 13thman much support either, by not abiding by site rules.

                            5. Leaving the site wanting all your posts removed and doing such a dramatic exit is seeking attention. This thread is only created to carry on what Esksfans has done best lately, 13thman bash, and it is sad that it has come to this. If you remember this is a spawn of 13thman, good posters such as Angelus and Fritos Fan took an idea hatched at 13thman and ran with it, creating a board that has grown very well in its short existance, it deserves better than threads like this.


                            Just for the record, 13thman isn't anymore anti-Eskimo, than this site is anti-(insert ABE CFL team). You will always remain in the minority of your views on 13thman, there are 8 other teams eyes watching what your team does. Remember that you aren't going to change others views that are not open minded to do so, just as I realize that my post here isn't viewed in favour or likely to change yours and some others.

                              4. I never said that I was never going back. My exact words were, "It's going to be a loooong time , if ever before I go back". As for mirrors go I agree , it's good to take a look in one every once and a while. To come on here and patronize all those, along with myself , who have offered valid criticisms of the site, and to dismiss them wholeheartedly is just the exact type of attitude that has turned many off. To receive backhanded comments by you and D towards me directly while I have not personally attacked either one of you is just as hypocritical as you claim I to be.

                              5. My requests were made privately. I was not looking for attention. Their outright refusal along with backhanded comments directed towards me is what spurred me to bring this into the open. My post there was a simple thank you to those I enjoyed talking with and to give a very brief goodbye because I no longer felt welcome. That's it. No blaze of glory, but you guys wouldn't let me do that, would you? My desires to have all my posts removed stems from the contempt that was shown towards me and because of that I no longer wish to have any traces of my contributions there. The only attention you're worried about is any negative ones by others.
