1971...Opening a time capsule
Well, since the Esks have now missed the playoffs, I think a good Irish wake is the proper way to salute the run. Being 30, I have no idea what it's like for the Esks to miss the playoffs. And judging by MG's poll thread, most of the other posters in here don't either.
For fun, I went through Wikipedia and Answers.com to pull up some events on 1971. I also did some searching for 1971 events in Edmonton. Digging up news from the last time the Eskies missed is like opening a huge time capsule.
Note down events of this year - because after an off-season with the Esks in drydock, I'm looking forward to another long and highly successful run and starting another time capsule. I'll be a year short of 65 the next time if they keep it at the same rate.
