Been noticing as I've been treking on my mountain bike the past few weeks how squirrels have been going crazy stripping spruce trees of their cones. Sign that they are storing up a lot of food for a long winter. Let's hope it brings a bunch of snow for a good snowmobiling season!

Agreed, but 21-25 is.Originally posted by Deathsdoorstep View Post12-18 degrees in August isn't perfect in my books, mate.
30 is only good if you're around women, beer or a pool.
Preferably all 3

Re: It could be an early & long winter
Totally unrelated but we were at a family barbecue last evening and there was a huge flock of gulls flying around the area, really, really high. There must have been 100-200 of them. With all of us looking skyward, we then saw a hawk flying carrying what looked like a squirrel in its talons. The squirrel was flighting but the hawk wasn't giving up its dinner....squirrels...
Some of the women thought it was disgusting but a few of us thought it was cool to see animals in action.
Sorry to derail the thread. The mention of squirrels made me think of it.
As for lots of snow, no thanks. I'd like a mild, dry winter. Mild more than dry.

Re: It could be an early & long winter
6 weeks? I wish! We had 3 weeks of temps between 25-31. July was a hot month (my lawn still hasn't recovered). But 5 degrees at night and 13 during the day in August is just unacceptable, IMO. We have a long enough winter, so when we get gypped out of half a summer, I get pissed off.Originally posted by Beerfish View PostAfter about 6 weeks in a row of hot weather I don't mind the colder temps at all. I don't mind having an early, long fall as that is my fav season as long as we don't get an early winter like we had last year.
