    EUB = KGB ?

    The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board, an agency of the government of Alberta, got caught spying on citizens.

    This government has been in power too long. Just like the long serving the Mulroney Conservatives and the Chretien Liberals, the corruption is entrenched. Time for a change.

    Don't confuse "government" with "bureaucracy"...

    I think this is too much a government agency that got a little drunk with power and inappropriate controls / checks / measures.

      The government has the power to remove those responsible.

      The EUB board says there is no need to fire them. They realize it is wrong and will never do it again.

        I agree that their is a disturbing trend here. Heck, the Alberta Securities Commission said the same thing too...at least some of 'em were punted.



        There is no WAY that the current upper management of EUB should be allowed to stay. For the love of god, what crack pipe was being smoked when the "order" for an undercover spy was being approved...???

          If they had done what they said they actually did (monitor for violence), then I don't really see the problem. However, once they started to collect personal and legal information, then it becomes a problem. And then they got caught a second time in Redwater:

          So, the real question becomes, how much are they actually watching? They've been caught twice now, how many other "situations" are they monitoring?
