Tell me this dog isn't awesome...

A girl I know and I have been searching for a dog for her. She wanted a chocolate lab, and Rottweilers have always been my favourite breed. Luck would have it that we found a Lab/Rott cross, 7 weeks old.

This little guy (who will be enormous) is criminally cute. I am very jealous this dog is not my own (I have a border collie).

Anyway, thought I would share her new addition to the family. I helped her pick out the name, she wanted Harley, and I wanted Tyson. So ladies and gentlemen I present.....Tyson!!!

For boy dogs I like Rocky, Thunder and Bear(no, I'm not native.) Even Braidwood sounds cool.

I always liked our neighbours policy... they just name them all Rex!

It's great, always know the mutts name even if you haven't visited for years, I think they're on the twelfth or so now. As they only have one at a time, not sure how George Foreman manages with his kids

Especially the cats.

Which is sad since most dogs deserve no better than to be put down at the earliest opportunity. All they want is to hurt small children anyway.

Thank you sir I am gonna attach a picture of my boy Kody...too smart for his own good. The most unique character of any dog I have ever met. Not a great picture, but one I have quickest available.

Yeah Border Collies are a fun breed to be sure...they can be a little more than difficult at times though. I love my dog however, even with his flaws I am sure he feels the same way.

Yup. Trust me, I love dogs, I take the responsibility very seriously, and I was telling her all the things she didn't want to hear. Especially with a dog that will be this big. We were looking for dogs for a few months...this wasn't a spur of the moment thing (The buying a dog part anyway). She knows how seriously I take dogs.

I am gonna be there to make sure this dog is brought up correct, and she knows that. She is great though, she will do a very good job.

Isn't he though? He is so docile (although I have told her that can change pretty quick...we are hoping it doesn't). He is a big suck right now...very cute.

What a typical load of krap from Catboy. You can't handle real animals because you are weak. We all know it.

oh, but while we're at it... it may as well be noted that cats are only good for use in lab experiments, suffocating babies, and eating.

The dog-human bond goes back tens of thousands of years. It is the closest bond our species has with another (which is just more proof that DDS is not human, but something far less! ). And you can see the intelligence in dogs in the way most dogs want to interact with people (as opposed to the utter lack of it in cats ) as well as a desire to communicate.

Collies are the best breed IMO. We have a 7 month old. She's mixed with a bit of lab but damn is she smart already. Easy to train, very obedient and they make the owner actually get some exercise.
