    Have Internet stick, will travel

I'm thinking of getting an Internet stick and wireless-anywhere service. Then I might cancel my home service and I can deduct the cost (good financial planning). I think Bell and Rogers are the main (only?) providers. Their prices seem to be about the same. Does anyone have experience or advice on these choices or anything I should know?

That they do. The current model is the Sierra Wireless 595. I just installed 2 of these at my job yesterday. Super easy to install and use, but you are going to be sacrificing a bit of speed going from high speed internet to a wireless air card. The thing to remember about air cards is they are bound by the same service restrictions as a cell phone from that same provider would be. Make sure the provider you are going with has decent cell service.
