    McSorley Back?

The following from today's Edmonton Journal:

Sources say former Edmonton Oilers tough guy Marty McSorley is in the running to replace Ray Ferraro on the team's SportsNet broadcasts.
McSorley worked as Randy Hahn's TV colourman for the San Jose Sharks when Drew Remenda briefly decided to leave.
After a short adjustment period, McSorley did a good job until being replaced by Remenda during the 2007 NHL playoffs.

Kevin Quinn will once again be the TV play-by-play man for the Oilers broadcasts on SportsNet.

I've heard Marty do some Sharks games and he was fine
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

I would guess that Marty would be fine.

Why is it that the less talented players most always seem to make the best broadcasters?

... except he's more of a homer then Roger Millions and John Garret.

I heard they're considering Ron Low; I think that'd be fantastic.

I'm happy Quinn's back, he's solid and relatively even keeled. If he started saying "Shoots" instead of "Lets the Shot GO!" a bit more often I'd really like him.
"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

For the same reason so many goalies make decent broadcasters....

...they spend more time watching real players play instead of actually playing themselves, that the transition is easy to comment on what you're watching....
Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.
