CNN Acknowledges Canada's War Effort in Afghanistan

Well I took a lot of heat (and so did a few others) on these threads for criticizing that Fox news "comedy special" on Canada's war in Afghanistan a few weeks ago but I would also like to give our American allies credit where credit is due.

A major story on CNN today gives Canada full credit for our sacrifices in Afghanistan and in reading the article I would say that it is worthy of praise. Judge for yourselves (see link below).

Meanwhile a high ranker @ Dept of Homeland Security is perpetuating the myth that 911 hijackers came into the US from here.......
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

but as a radio pundit was saying here this a.m. 'can you imagine if Sarah Palin had tried to say that? They would've eaten her alive. Actually, I think Sarah could probably give this lady some tips on keeping up with the media ... [soundbite of Palin's "Any of them, all of them, whatever's in front of me" response]"

      classic.

Re: CNN Acknowledges Canada's War Effort in Afghanistan

For those of you who are following the story, the Taliban have now taken control of a good chunk of Pakistan and are now within 60 miles of Islamabad.

To think that they are that close to the Pakistan capital is scary and it means that the Taliban's stranglehold over Southern Afghanistan is only going to worsen. The Pakistan government is slowly losing control in the region and since the Afghan government is just a paper tiger it really leads one to wonder what is coming over the course of the summer. The Taliban will fill the power vacuum.

I hate to say it but we may have to bring the troops home early before the 2011 date. It is just becoming too unstable and I for one believe that the situation is going to get much worse there before it gets better. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Yes indeed, apparently 100 warheads and no one is sure exactly who controls them. Elements of the Pakistani army are quite sympathetic to the Taliban.

It's scary stuff especially for Israel and it doesn't help that Iran's President Ahmadenijad has vowed to destroy them. The doomsday scenario for Israel is that Iran gets a hold of the Pakistani warheads through its terrorist network.

Israel's power broker Netanyahu is visiting Washington in May and I have heard some speculation that he is feeling out the Obama administration for an Israeli strike against the Iranians that could happen this summer. Things could get very hot in the Mid-East over the next few months.
