    Tragedy @ Big Valley

Simply unbelievable... storm hit within seconds, the stage collapsed.

    One dead, 60+ injured.

Getting a hold of a few people last night was absolutely sobering.

Hope that everyone here had everyone and anyone they know get home safe.
"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

My cousin was there. I hope he's alright. I heard it happened right before Kevin Costner's band was going to go on stage.

Here's the story from the Journal, the reporter was there to review the concerts and it quickly turned into a much different story. http://www.edmontonjournal.com/news/...266/story.html

I was there. And it literally happened in a matter of seconds.

Just looking at those before and after pics of the main stage made me sick to my stomach, crazy. I love the BVJ and was suppose to go this year, I hope they can come back from this and still get big name talent to come back.

My daughter has all-event tickets. We were in the Calgary area yesterday when we heard this. We called her but she wasn't planning on attending until today. What a tragedy. I hope this doesn't jeopardize the event's future.

Exactly what I was thinking. Not a country music fan, however I did attend once. Fun for many people but I fear the lawsuits will be aplenty.
