    Boats!

    Anyone here a boater? into boating?

    I started crewing on a sailboat last year... sailing is pretty big on Lake Ontario. I wasn't expecting much but it's pretty darn cool! You get a bunch of 25-35 foot long sailboats jockeying for position - no engines, no brakes, lots of momentum and wind! - and things can get pretty damn exciting.

    Any-hoo, the fellow who owns the sailboat pointed out this cute little power boat at the club where his boat is at... one thing led to the next... a few phone calls... a deal too good to pass up. And presto! I'm the owner of a 28 foot Bayliner, twin engine, cabin cruiser!

    Thing is... I don't really know what the hell I'm doing!

    I do know that the boat will be renamed through an official ceremony. It is to be called 'The Tiki Lounge'.

    So... if anybody knows anything about boats and such and wouldn't mind the occasional stupid question. Let me know!

    And if you are a boater of any sort... let us all know!

    I have a small boat I play with. Usually in the tub...

    ...but sometimes outside in puddles when it's raining.

      (you should be thankful I didn't take the 'playing with your small boat in the tub' comment in another direction! )

                  I don't have much of a clue about boats.

                  But why call it "The Tiki Lounge"?
                  Why not "The Floating Igloo" or something like that?
                  Or a nice white-with-green-and-gold paint job would be cool.

                    The Tiki Lounge... well... I just kinda got into this tiki/tropical thing. I've got about 25 wild/Hawaiian/tropical shirts... And besides, the boat is never going to be really pretty so I figured I could do it up with dashboard hula girls, tiki lights, etc.

                    As for paint jobs... at this stage I'm more concerned about getting at least one of the engines running... maybe even two! And it needs a bunch of electrical work. Any electricians out there?

                      nope, but i'm a bloody surgeon with a plasma torch and a grinder......if you ever feel the need to scuttle the sucker
                      Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.
