    Muslim Brotherhood Wins in Egypt

Well, we can exhale now, the Brotherhood and Morsi have been declared the winners.

If they had not won then many, many innocent people would have died this week in Egypt. The brotherhood was waiting for an excuse to burn down the entire country and declare Sharia law but at least for now they didn't get it. Stay tuned. When Egypt goes off the rails it will mean major war in the Mid-East and who knows what consequences for North America.

Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

I'm enjoying the witty comments but joking aside, I am afraid that the collapse of European banks and major war in the Mid-East could be the perfect storm that takes us all down.

I am relieved that the Muslims won--- otherwise large parts of Cairo would have been decimated and it might have been the tipping point that set the whole thing on fire. It's not over yet...by a longshot.

                  The global correction continues.

Don't worry. No matter what happens they'll foolishly blame capitalism or the USA.

Europe's over-socialist holiday is coming to an end. America's full-on corruption days are numbered as well. Rough waters ahead. A better world on the other side, though.

Why is it that any time a Muslim dictator is deposed and the people FINALLY get a chance to choose their own leader, they end up choosing someone far worse than the guy they just got rid of? I wouldn't want to be a woman in Egypt right now.

Well, it's just one guys opinion but they now have what most of them wanted all along.

The majority of men in Egypt (I don't say all) want a society where women are seen as chattels and they will never accept the values of Western Society so in a sense they are getting exactly what they wished for. They could have voted in a western style leader but they didn't want one.

One way or another the tourist industry has been decimated in Egypt and it may never recover. Some members of Morsi's party want the Sphinx and the temples shut down for good because they are symbols of idolatry. That's going to mean much more hardship for 80 million people crowded along the banks of the Nile. They were struggling to survive under Mubarek and now bad has gone to worse.

It will be very tough times in Egypt for many years to come.

I was speaking to Naguib Sawiris the main financial backer for Wind Mobile. He is a very nice and astute businessman. He says that while there will be turmoil in the next 2-3 years the Brotherhood leader Pres. Mohamed Mursi is dedicated to build up Egypt's Manufacturing and Agricultural industries.

He says that with determination Egypt and its 80 million people could be the new Germany and that the government will not be allowed to institute full Sharia law. If he is correct and as a citizen and financial leader he should be It truly will be something to watch.

I'm sure the guy that you were speaking with knows much more about Egypt than I do but I do not believe for one moment that the Muslim Brotherhood is interested in diversity. Within the next decade they will have what basically amounts to Sharia law albeit in slow increments so as not to upset the military.

Egypt bears no resemblance towards Germany in terms of infrastructure, business or culture. When the majority of men don't want women to work or even drive then how will Egypt ever resemble a Western powerhouse like Germany?

Yeah he is a self made Billionaire and an interesting guy to talk to. I met him twice now when he checked in to my Hotel the Hilton here. He says the real power behind the throne will still be the moderate military. Women will retain their rights and the set of laws will be watered down. The citizens are too diverse with Copts, Jews, etc. to accept a truly Muslim hardline set of laws.

The new minister of infrastructure is his friend and is where he was getting the word about the diversification of their economy and the phrase "Germany of the middle east" is actually Mr Sawiris's and the goal of many of the generals who will hold the true power.
