Re: Nanny Alison Revolt?
The problem with Redford isn't that she's a nanny. She's no more a nanny than any of her recent predecessors and certainly no more of a nanny than Stephen Harper. Her problem is threefold:
1. She tries to control everything in cabinet in a way that even Harper or Pierre Trudeau would roll their eyes at.
2. She lacks honesty and transparency in the province's finances, best illustrated by the budget's "three-budget" approach which lack a consolidated financial statement. Balanced budget my ass!
3. She cares more about the trappings of the office than the people she represents. In short, she likes spending taxpayer dollars...on herself.

I can get on board with the criticism of her leadership - which is lacking - but I have a hard time "supporting" people (example: Lorne Gunter at the Sun) who feel the absolute need to throw misogynistic titles around when describing the Premier.
Her actions stand by themselves as being worthy of criticism...the blatant personal attacks are petty and unnecessary.

A thousand times this. Anyone who wants a fresh dose of outrage, start following Kathleen Smith on twitter (https://twitter.com/KikkiPlanet). She was digging up travel expense claims last night and posting them online.Originally posted by Deathsdoorstep View PostThe problem with Redford isn't that she's a nanny. 16 grand for 2 people spending one night in Chicago. 5 grand for 2 people spending 3 nights in a hotel. 46 grand for 3 people to fly to China. Some of the expenses are jaw dropping.
I'm good friends with a girl who used to work in Redford's office. She's enjoying every second of this.

Knowing someone who's hubby works at the ledge and has the displeasure of dealing with her almost daily when in session, it's safe to say the Sun couldn't print the word most people there use under their breath in reference to her. Starts with 'c'I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Re: Nanny Alison Revolt?
Redford's style reminds me vey much of Adrienne Clarkson.
She is an elitist who does not identify with people and can't understand why her spending habits should be in the interests of those of a "lower station" in life.
Recall that Clarkson had the same habit of dragging along an entourage on global trips and then bristling with indignation when questioned about her lack of frugality.
Another point is that Redford's spending came at a time when the government was cutting back in the public sector, especially education.
An even bigger ditz (and possibly more miserable) is Sandra Janzen, basically the chick that Don Henley sang about in his song.

Re: Nanny Alison Revolt?
Any surprise really?
Here was a person who was priming her own agenda into law (which would make citizens into criminals without any science to back it up), before she was even brought into power. Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

77%. Not a huge endorsement. The same number Stelmach got. He was gone within a year. She'll be gone as well.Originally posted by quake View PostIsn't this the same Allison Redford that got a ringing endorsement during a leadership review a few short months ago?
