    "Gotta Try" Restaurants in Edmonton

So name some places in Edmonton where the food is so good you just want to tell everyone.

My one favourite places is Pazzo Pazzo, good Italian restaurant downtown. Great food, good atmosphere, decent prices. Can't go wrong.

I love Royal Pizza as well. Love the cheese and the grease on the pizza. Can't go wrong with that!

Co Co Di Mediterranean restaurant on Jasper avenue. Not the prettiest looking place, but great food and hookah.

That being said, Koutouki Taverna takes the cake for Greek food in town. Friday nights at the 124th street location are great!!

Blue Plate, Wild Tangerine and Tres Carnales. Oh and since the Mrs. has crazy allergies, Canteen is a very good option.
      14 and counting!

Great thread idea and I will be reading with great interest. One of my favorites and definitely my favorite buffet is the Kitchen Buffet and Bistro at the River Cree resort. They change it up nightly and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food up for grabs.

High Level Diner, just past the south end of the High Level Bridge. It's never a bad time going out for a walk on the bridge and then heading in for something to eat, or vice versa.

Also, some others that just came to mind:
          • Five Guys Burgers and Fries at South Edmonton Common and Currents of Windermere. Incredibly savoury burgers and enormous portions of fries. Menu variety is kind of lame, though; about all you can get are burgers, hot dogs, fries, pop, and peanuts. That's it.
          • Fatburger at South Edmonton Common, City Centre Mall, Whitemud Trail, and 170th st. Not quite as juicy as Five Guys, but better menu variety. There's onion rings, milkshakes, mini donuts, and even beer for those who are so inclined.
          • IHOP on the Whitemud. Makes some good specialty pancakes and has nice staff.
          • The Bulgogi House on 92nd st. Haven't been in a while, but as I remember, it serves up some excellent Korean food.

Keep an open mind, and you never know who might walk in...

            I second Tres Carnales.
            New coach, different results?

I always enjoy Bucas and Pastas, 16516 - 100 Ave., across from the cop shop. Quick, tasty, inexpensive Italian and everything is home made. I don't believe you should pay $13 for a plate of spaghetti and this place shows I'm right.

Langanos Skies on whyte. Great Ethiopian food that's great for sharing.

Also try Sofra on 106st by Grant Mac campus. I know the owner and his wife and their turkish food is all hand made and amazing.

I'll be honest, considering how I viewed Ethiopia growing up as a kid as a country where everyone was starving; that their cuisine would be a bowl of fly-ridden oatmeal.

yes, I know nothing could be further from the truth, but years of CCF commercials kinda trains you to believe that.

If you haven't eaten all day and love meat, only meat, go to Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse. Because as everyone knows, you don't make friends with salad.

Pampa is a cool experience the first time. And then annoying every time after that.

Pampas is okay, but I prefer the one in Vegas at Planet Hollywood.

A couple of hole in the wall joints that I can personally vouch for on the cities NE side, would be Nefeli's Ristorante (Italian) - located in a small strip mall at 5930 153 Avenue. As well as Cafe Del Sol (authentic Mexican) 6502, 132 Ave.

Agree with this, but it's a crap shoot when they're open or not.

I hear ya but I've eaten there a couple of times and it's fantastic. The bread is a bit to get used to but if you're a fan of sour dough, you'll like it.
