Ok, so we've recently switched over from Shaw to Telus for cable and internet.
Our wifi/modem is in my wife's office on the main floor and her computer is plugged directly into it.
They gave us a wifi extender that's in the same office and gets us a pretty good signal in the top floor and the basement. Except for my (and I hate this term but) man cave. We have to keep doors shut on both offices because our cats love to eat wires for some f'ing reason and I really don't want them jumping around my trophy cabinet or other football memorabilia anyways...but anyways.
I can get a decent signal just to browse FB or this site etc. But when I try to do anything big like watch movies or play WoW - it doesn't have enough oomph. It gets about 6mbps when upstairs plugged into the modem my wife is getting 65+...
We had a dlink powerline adapter before that solved the problem just fine but for some reason since we switched over, I can't get the dang thing to work. Wondering if anyone has some tips or tricks? The d-link website is essentially useless with their FAQ section. I've tried different outlets in the same room, no luck. I know they still work because I've plugged them in on the same level of the house and all green.
Anyone?
