Saw Fogerty and Mellencamp last night

Freakin Awesome!

I was there to see Fogerty and he was awesome. Damn he is a lot better guitar player then he is given credit for, and has so much energy. Did all the classics except Lodi, which sucked cause thats my favourite.

Mellencamp was really good, which suprised me.

Coolest part: Half way through Mellencamp's set, he talked for a minute about a guy he listened to and loved when he was young. Then brought Fogerty out to do a couple of songs, and The roof damn near blew off. Absolutly spinetingling!

All in all, a great great show!

That would be a great show. I was a huge Mellencamp fan up till about the mid 90's or so. I loved his early albums "Nothin' Matters and What if it Did", "American Fool" and I would say the "Scarecrow" and "The Lonesome Jubilee" albums are two of the best albums, song for song, that I've ever heard. I feel like Mellencamp sort of "lost his voice" as far as songwriting goes. Before he told stories of ordinary people in ordinary lives, much like Springsteen did. But now he just sounds preachy to me. Glad to hear he was worthwhile to see live.
Fogerty, of course, is Fogerty.

Yeah, Scarecrow was one of the songs that the two did together. The other was Green River.
