Amazing Race finale....hmmm

Watched the finale tonight of family edition. A lot of it took place in Montreal and Toronto, which was kind of neat. Especially to see the area I know well in TO.
I have to say the understanding of Canada from some of the participants was laughable. One of the kids when the clue said Tour CN, asked if her mother new how to ask for that at a convenience store. Her mother replied they are english here. Only one of the teams new to call it the CN tower. I couldn't believe their lack of knowledge of there neighbour to the north. It was shocking I'm glad that most Canadians are knowledgable in geography.
I have to say it was awesome to see Canada on one of these shows.

Indeed ...it wasn't a bad episode at all. I'm happy with who won and who didn't (Linzes, Bransens, Weavers, in order of finish)......nice to see they had a lot of Montreal and Toronto in there.

One thing ticked me off, though, and I don't know if it was there specifically for the show, or who did it or why it was there - but in the Big O, when they went in to get their clue at "centre field", it was an AMERICAN football field - the "centre" was the 50 yd line, and the goalposts were behind the endzones.

Anyways...a big "WHO DEY?" for dem Linzes.

TAR is the best reality show on TV.

This is the second time they've been to Canada. They went to Calgary a couple seasons ago (TAR5 I think).

Anyway, glad to see the Linzes win.

Yeah, TAR5 sounds right - they went to Banff (Sunshine) and Calgary (Olympic Park).

You are correct, and a great deal of the on-air time in the show was spent showcasing the best part of Calgary...the departure terminal at the international airport. Fastest way out of Calgary!

The preview for TAR9 looked awesome! The "family" thing was a big failure in my opinion and getting back to teams of 2 is the right move. It looks like they'll be hitting up Russia, Brazil, Thailand...even Japan and Greece. They're going all out for that one!

Yeah, the family edition was definitely not as good as the two-person team seasons.

Can't wait till February for it. Finally, another around-the-world one, instead of North America.

Yeah...I didn't watch this season because I was turned off of the family thing...

But I agree that TAR is the best reality show bar none.

My sister in law hooked me on TAR in the middlle of a season, 3 seasons ago. I was not overly impressed with the family edition, but was glad my guys won Didn't really like the Weavers much. I was glad they came in third, especially after see them give up at the stadium. I can't wait for the next season We have an office pool on the show. I actually won this time WooHoo

I like the fact they are going back to world traveling now. I like seeing places I'd like to eventually visit. Although it was nice to see familiar landmarks as well.
