Jennifer Heil goes for gold

Notice the new avatar: Jennifer Heil, soon to be gold medal winner.

I know the Heil family and want to get her all the support I can as she prepares for the Olympics. Jenn has been in Europe for some time now. She's peaking at the right time and, although this event is very iffy, I'm cheering for her big time. She's been racing very well in the last few weeks. I predict gold.

I'll be sending some money to support her cause. If anyone wishes to do the same, I'll post the site where donations can be made. It's very costly to do what she does. She travels all over the world. I don't think v-cash will be accepted.

Go, Jenn, go. Bring the gold medal home to Canada.

I too predict gold, i still remember in Salt Lake when she was so close to bronze (1/100th of a second i think).

Yes it was 1-100th of a second. I have a funny story about that day. The day she was racing I was out and about and stopped at a Harvey's Restaurant. I was reading the Sun and this old guy comes up to me and asks about Olympic coverage in the paper. We chatted and I found out he's Jennifer's grandfather. He's telling me about teaching her to ski when she was a wee girl. When I told Jenn's dad, it turned out the stories weren't quite 100 per cent true. But he was a proud granddad. Can't blame him for that. Turns out he had just watched Jenn ski and was so proud he just had to get out and be proud with someone.
