Argh!! 'New'....'better' technology is always a pain in the as....rump.
I recently bought a new computer with the most up-to-date sound card (Soundblaster audigy X-fi). I am finally ready to hook up my yamaha keyboard to the soundcard so I can use some music studio software.
With my old computer I had a cable that had midi ports on one end and a joystick plug in on the other end that I would use to plug into the port on the sound card. The new improved sound card does not have a friggin joystick port, it has something called an AD-LINK port that nothing I have will plug into. After hours of searching and mucking about it looks like I might have to buy some console box thing that plugs into the sound card that has midi cable inputs, which will cost me some cold hard cash. At times I really hate new technology.
