Bell Globemedia has bought out CHUM killed the 6 and 11pm news and laid off nearly half of the employees. No word on if Bob Stauffer got the axe, but without a Wednesday news cast were is No BS going to air

This blows. I remember when A-Channel was independent...and then got bought out by CHUM. Then the CHUM founder dies and his son is all, "We're never going to sell". Of course, they sold yesterday...
At least shareholders got a GREAT price -- 50% above current trading value!

I was watching Breakfast News this morning and the station manager said they'll be back in the fall with a half-hour news program focusing on local events.
