Is There Anything Interesting to do in Edm on a Weeknight?

Well, with my job now, every couple of weeks I have to make the 280km trek north to Edmonton, and have to stay a couple nights.
I'm here right now and bored out of my mind... is there anything fun/cool to do in Edmonton on a weeknight?
The Mall is boring and stupid, and I am not a single guy, so hookers, strippers, etc. are out!!!
So what's there to do in this city???

What do you (KF) normally do in Calgary on the weekend? Maybe we can suggest something similar based on that.

You'll find Edmonton is a lot of fun. Better than watching the tumbleweeds go by. Our women have full sets of teeth too. And they walk on 2 legs.

What do you (KF) normally do in Calgary on the weekend? Maybe we can suggest something similar based on that.

I'm pretty domesticated now - hiking with the G/F, golf, movies, etc. Also once in a while I like to tie one on with my buddies... and of course, football, etc when there;s a game.

I'm actually disappointed that I was planning to make my next trip next week for the LD rematch, but I have to be in Tor instead...

I know there's a degenerate casino nearby my hotel (downtown) are there any good casinos in Edm? What about decent bars to hit up with good beer (Hoegarden, etc) where I won;t feel like a tool for being by myself??

Yeah, I'm whipped, but its worth it, she's beautiful, smart, and rich!

He can do that in the comfort of his apartment with the shades drawn, but as for things to do in Edmonton ... their are some quiet spa's on Jasper ave the cater a man's man kind of crowd. Look for the multi-colored rainbow like flags outside and ask for Buddy

What makes Calgary so great? IMO both cities are pretty equal in most aspects.

lets see the atmosphere in calgary is much better, just driving around you can see the difference, have you seen the golf courses in calgary compared to edmonton there much better, downtown is better too.

I don't gamble much but if you like casinos the Yellowhead Casino is pretty popular. I think the downtown one is going to be torn down and rebuilt sometime in the somewhat near future so it's probably going downhill from here on in.

Whyte Ave is usually where most people hang out for the bar scene though places like the Sidetrack Cafe and Overtime in downtown are pretty popular. I'm sure others who drink way, way more than I do can suggest better options

I don't golf so I don't give a crap about that I think atmosphere is highly subjective and people are extremely slanted towards the city they're from. My sister and her family live in Calgary so I spend a lot of time there, and I can honestly say I don't feel any special atmosphere there than in any other city.
