Re: Camp evaluation results
Thats impressive, considering they had a bench press competition at the Pro Bowl this year on NFL Network and the winner Lorenzo Neal won with 38 reps. Most of the others were between 30 and 35 reps. I can do 2 or even 3 with some help...if Im feeling strong that day

I've always argued that there isn't much difference between CFL players and NFL players. We all breath the same air.Originally posted by ESKKIIMOOSSSS!!Thats impressive, considering they had a bench press competition at the Pro Bowl this year on NFL Network and the winner Lorenzo Neal won with 38 reps. This was done by a handfull of rookies, you are talking pro-bowl members. I bet a few of our vets could equal the NFL guys.Placing the Alberta Flag on the Calgary Flames uniform is akin to putting lipstick on a Pig

Re: Camp evaluation results
Interesting that the latest report out of e-camp is critical that some of the hopefulls declined participating in some of the drills. Do these kids not realize that the physical ability differences between them are very small? The scouts are going to take more of a chance on a guy who has demonstrated that he has a fierce competetive fire. A good physical specimen who is coasting through is going to go lower, if at all. You can build muscle and develop skill but you've either got DESIRE or you don't.
I hope we pick the most tenacious kids there.

Re: Camp evaluation results
so for anyone thinking we should draft a really great O-lineman in a high round... there aint much to pick from (as expected) Rempel may be the only serious prospect in that regard, but is he worth the #2 overall? maybe from he abundance of DL guys we find someone th work on converting to a guard - which then puts him on the same learning curve a Kabongo.. which we've seen can be a rather slow process.
I think if we want to take one of those receivers, we want to be getting someone that will be a big player for us right away - we have a good set of Canuck receivers sitting in the wings and dont need another 'pretty good' guy."Because this Eskimo experience is not made for just anyone" - KP

I can do three or four, depending on my level of motivation and whether I've showered that day.Originally posted by ESKKIIMOOSSSS!!Thats impressive, considering they had a bench press competition at the Pro Bowl this year on NFL Network and the winner Lorenzo Neal won with 38 reps. Combine to combineOriginally posted by NanooksterI've always argued that there isn't much difference between CFL players and NFL players. We all breath the same air.

Tank Tyler (NFL) 42 reps
JP Bekasiak (CFL) 33 reps
Big Difference!
4 WR +DB under a 4.4 at the NFL combine
6 players under 4.7 at CFL combine (no one lower then 4.5)
HUGE DIFFERENCE!
We may breath the same air but the guys at the NFL combine sure were making better use of itLast edited by pete; 03-16-2007, 02:15 PM.The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.

Re: Camp evaluation results
I thought Rempel was a good o-lineman. He played in the east-west shrine game and started right tackle. He looked pretty good going up against some players from USC, Michigan etc.Originally posted by Numberzand, what does this mean for our draft situation? Bekasiak would be a good pick-up, but do we pick Phillips considering our LB situation, or maybe Carter. Doesn't seem to be very much good o-lineman in the draft. Maybe we would draft Bauman though at receiver...Pro football is like nuclear warfare. There are no winners, only survivors.
